Missing email messages. I used a gmail address and received my notification at work on my personal email account. When I got home my "mail" program did not have the original email, even in the junk, but it did have the email from Bob. I had to go into my gmail account via google to access the earlier email and take it out of spam. Which is a long way of saying - if you have mail and got the second but not the first, check gmail through google (or whatever your back up method is, if you have one) because it could be hiding.

Thanks Hopefalj and Gary! Can Sratty or someone send me a number to call Bob? I will send it to you.

Clarification needed... I received 2 emails one with forms and one with corrected forms. I have seen a couple of references to interview arrangements. Has anyone received an email regarding interview arrangements? I thought the GAL form had to be returned first? The report on the board of setting up the interview started with "are you still interested in the ALJ position?" So I think once they have a yes, it is safe to assume GAL ranking and forms will be returned. Besides, I think there are so many steps to setting up the interviews that they have to get the ball rolling, e.g., funding authorization emails, travel arrangements, etc. So is there some separate email that just asks if you are still interested, with no attachments? What's the title, if so? Were the ones who received it people who had already interviewed, or only insiders

That's the closest thing I got to what you are describing. That's an attachment to the cert email.

The second came from Bob with corrected attachments. I was referring to the person who reported getting a call to schedule interview before getting emails.

I may be wrong of course, but I'm an insider that didn't receive a special interview email.

I got the call this afternoon to schedule the interview. It was followed by a confirmation email. I have not heard from anyone regarding travel plans.

Friends,
The ol' Venn diagram of the cert and my GAL just didn't match up this time around. I'm out this round, but I'll try to keep up providing my usual fare of light humor, incisive commentary, motivation, and a helping of naval trivia. Oh, and I also know the restaurants of 22202 like the back of my hand, so I'll do my best to ensure the 2nd certers are well-fed come January. You might need some good Ethiopean food to keep the belly warm in the sub-freezing January temperatures! Ping me with questions, advice, etc. As always, I stand ready to assist!
Of course, had I known how awesome Tucson is back several years ago, I'd be on this round... Ah well. Thanks and
Vr/C

The "notice to candidate" email with all the attachments being the only thing sent makes makes more sense.

So is there some separate email that just asks if you are still interested, with no attachments? What's the title, if so? Were the ones who received it people who had already interviewed, or only insiders This is what I was wondering. So far meanmom is the only one who has posted getting a call to set up interview arrangements. Ok, after several messages from people I finally figured this out. There were two processes unfolding yesterday. Calls to set up interviews and notification of the cert emails. A few people who are "local" in the DC area who do not need travel arrangements were contacted by telephone first to see if they were still interested ... these people do not need the travel arrangements and can take slots early in the interview process. So while the emails were going out for the cert list, another process was going on to arrange interviews. The folks who are local are getting interviews right away, the first few days of the interview slots since they do not need the extra time to arrange travel. Ordinarily, without the return of the GAL list, SSA would not know if the individuals were "still interested." Hence, the first question, are you still interested so they could arrange the interview date before the cert emails even went out. Now it makes sense. This had me perplexed and when I saw Observer ask about an "email" about "are you interested" I knew it wasn't just me. So there it is folks, there is a plan and it is logical.

I did not find this board until it was well after the initial application process, so I was wrongly led to believe that I should select only a limited number of cities (Oh, how wrong I was). So, I am one of those people who has a very limited GAL and have been waiting patiently for a GAL refresh. However, despite my very limited GAL, I was pleasantly shocked to learn that I made this cert! It's been a very exciting couple of days!

Much like the old poker adage of only needing a chip and a chair, all you need in this process is a city on a cert! Congrats!

I got the call to set up an interview mid-afternoon yesterday, and the email from Bob clarifying about the forms late yesterday (just before 5 EST), but still haven't received the email notification that I made the cert and listing cities. But I'm pretty sure I made it, and I'm checking my spam and inbox folders feverishly! I've returned the interview call, got voicemail.
