I would appreciate any feedback ya'll could provide on whether a score in the low 50s means that I will never be considered for an ALJ position. Is there any chance that if another class is put together next year that I could get an interview assuming the geography matches?
Thank you.

robinrr: the cut off for this cert of 450 was 55. I know this because I personally spoke with someone just over a 55 who made the cert and someone with a 54 and change who did not. Assuming the register is comprised of 600-650 people, and between this is reduced by 150 (this cert) and 25 (summer cert), that would leave approximately 425-475 people left. Add in maybe another 50 from successful appeals, and that is 475-525. If the register does not open up in 2009 for new application, and SSA does in fact hire another 125 people (as frequently rumored) then they would dip down 375 people. As you just missed this cert, you would most certainly (geographic considerations aside) make the 2009 cert.
Best of luck.
