I've made it official, so I am ready to come out of the closet and report that I received an offer on Monday. Outie, non-vet, starting in May (for science and stuff -- and yes, I voted in the polls). My fingers and toes are still crossed, however, that many more calls are going to be made in the coming days and weeks. I hope the current intel about aspirations for a May class of 40 are accurate. Congratulations anotherfed! When Gaidin reported the "anonymous" hire, you were on my short list of suspects. You should have come out yesterday after oral arguments in Obergefell ... lol ... In all seriousness, congratulations and the best of luck going forward. I hope to join you and all of the others present and future who get the call.

Late Tuesday, I received an offer for Cincinnati with a start date of May 18. I responded the next moringing and requested a later start date, and they were kind enough to postpone me to June 29. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the June class.

Thanks anotherfed. I did not get mine yet and I am feeling a little nervous, like maybe I dreamed the whole thing!

Thanks anotherfed. I did not get mine yet and I am feeling a little nervous, like maybe I dreamed the whole thing! I felt the same way. I gave notice on Wed, without the offer letter in hand. It was nerve-wracking until I got it. I got my offer on Monday, got the relo package and faqs on Tuesday, and the offer email on Friday. If you don't get it by Monday, call Bob.

Anotherfed, I got my email after 4pm on Friday. It was a week after I got the call. I, too, felt nervous because it took so long.

When I spoke with Bob last Wednesday, he told me the background checks were running behind because the office that does them is in Baltimore and was shut down a couple times. Bob advised it would be Friday to early this week before they were all done, and official offers can be sent out.

I understand that training commences June 8 for the May 18 crowd, but does anyone know what day training concludes? Is that the day your family comes to see you and there are some mild speeches?

Friday July 3rd is the end of the 4 weeks after the June 8th start. That particular day is a treated as a Federal holiday for July 4th, so sounds like your class will end training on July 2nd, but I do not have confirmation of this.

This information was passed to me by a source. I have verified what I could out of it and consider it reliable.

If this is true it is the second time in a row that in the polling information Orland Park is an FFV. I think someone is trying to give Gary a heart attack. Hope still springs eternal, i guess.

What this pace of hiring tells me is that SSA will not make its goal of hiring 250 before the end of this fiscal year unless it really picks up the pace of hires in the next few months going into September.
