Actually, acttwo, I haven't really trained Mongeese. I know a little bit about how they fight the snakes, and thought I would post that I had trained them to see if anyone caught it. You caught it. Two stars for you. dshawn gets minus one star, just for being himself. In the video picture above showing what appears to be a Cobra spitting venom, I don't think that is a King Cobra. While other Cobras can spew their venom, to the best of my memory, the King Cobra isn't one of them. The plural of Mongoose is probably the same—Mongoose, but I'm not sure, so I use a plural I am familiar with—Mongeese. I guess I could look it up, but I am happily ignorant. Pixie

This guy hits some terrible discords on his pungi, but considering what he is doing, I guess that is understandable. I wonder if the cobra has been recently de—venomized? If you watch the video, you will see why I ask that.

Does he protect himself with......pungi sticks?

This one has always fascinated me:
There are more molecules of water in a TBS than there are TBS of water in all the oceans of the world.
(4.9e23 molecules in a TBS of water—9.3e22 TBS of water in all of the oceans in the world.)

I thought someone would have mentioned it by now, but the street performing snake charmers are a sham. King Cobras have no external ears; they can't hear the music, so they aren't following the music . What is actually happening, is they perceive the "snake charmer" and his pungi as a predator, so they keep a close eye on him. They don't turn and try to crawl off as they know they are even more vulnerable when they can't see the threat. If the "charmer" gets too close, he will be bitten, as we saw in that video.
The King Cobra and the Black Mamba position differently and strike differently than the pit vipers in this country, and aren't nearly as quick. Our pit vipers are split second fast as their strike isn't nearly as long; it is short, compact and quick. I don't think a Mongoose would stand a chance against a Rattlesnake. I know I wouldn't attempt to train one against one of our horrid pit vipers. Pixie

How many marriages rocked, jobs lost, friendships ruptured due to a stupid piece of software?

Apologizing in advance:
A priest, a rabbit, and a minister walk into a bar. The bartender asks the rabbit "what'll ya have?" The rabbit says "I dunno. I'm only here because of autocorrect."
Thank you. I'll be here all week.

That Daisy Duck's nieces are named April, May, and June? I know this is a very old "did you know" post that I am quoting, but it cracked me up bc it could totally be used in a decision. For example, "The claimant underwent a series of epidural steroid injections in April, May, and June ("DYK" those are also the names of Daisy Duck's nieces). In addition, . . . ."

The addition of the appropriate amount of garlic, onions and pepper reduces the significance of the identity of beast being roasted.

Meals shared in the hotel lobby. FFwd to hundreds of miles and many months later, still going strong.

The addition of the appropriate amount of garlic, onions and pepper reduces the significance of the identity of beast being roasted. I had a Naval Academy classmate from Tennessee who occasionally used to catch and stew squirrels on a weekend. I don't believe he ever received demerits for this. He was in another battalion, so this is mere hearsay. Tourists had made USNA squirrels less fearful of humans than normal.

Were you in the next class?
