Yeah . . . different Mt. Pleasant. Mt. Pleasant, SOUTH CAROLINA.
No gators, crocs, poisonous snakes, big ugly spiders, or other denizens, in Mt. Pleasant, MICHIGAN.
Just an occasional Stars and Bars adorned pickup with Loud Pipes - I saw one about a month ago.
We do have college kids, and lots of them, tying up traffic about three times a day.
And friendly people heading to the fantastic Michigan beaches and resorts. Grabbing a Pastie on the way.

Speaking of Ford--he's the only person to have served as both Vice President and President without being elected.

Gary is right, as usual. Can't believe Bayou made a mistake like that.

Here is one reason I don't like those horrid alligators. If you look closely, you will see a human arm in the jaws of this beast. A friend of mine, knowing how I feel about them, sent me the picture. This is a small file, so there may not be much detail. If you expand it, it views much easier. Attachments:

Where the tourists paddleboard every summer, they regularly pull gators from the same lake every winter, hope they did not miss any this winter, 🐊

This is a small file, so there may not be much detail. If you expand it, it views much easier. In the gated community I used to live in South Florida, one would often see signs posted on the way in/out for "lost" animals - dogs, cats, and one time a pot-bellied pig. Parents do not have the heart to tell their kids that most of these lost critters end up as snacks for gators! There are numerous small lakes/ponds in our community, which are there for flood management purposes (besides looking nice). What folks need to remember, is that they are all connected by 3-6 foot culverts for drainage, and those culverts begin and sometimes end in the Everglades. Therefore, anything from the Everglades that can slither through a large culvert can be in that lovely little pond behind your house. That means gators, snakes, etc.!! They usually have no swimming signs posted, but rarely tell you why.

I had been feeling stupid for not including a Florida location in my GAL. Now, not so much. I agree with Pixie. At least snow doesn't eat my pet!

I can't avoid Florida because sister lives there . . . or I would. She has a big, beautiful man-made pond behind her house. I keep watching for a pair of beady gator eyes in her backyard. I know they will find that pond someday. She has a screened porch that her kitties hang out in to get their sunshine fix. I hope sister doesn't think a screen will protect her cats.
Remember last year-- there was more than one story about criminal suspects hiding in the Florida underbrush from police, only to meet a more toothsome end.
I'll take tornadoes, with all due respect, over gators and hurricanes!

The Western Hemisphere's Longest Suspension Bridge? Hint: It's 160 miles north of Mt. Pleasant!

You'd need a director like John Ford to film the story of the Great Florida Gator Drive.
