If I recall correctly, last time this position was advertised (for other locations), only people claiming veterans points were interviewed. Ah yes. I believe that was the case last go around.

Job at FEMA --but limited to first 200 resumes www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/544262300(I happened to look at the link on first 200. The way it works is that if they reach the number they won't tell you untill after 1am the following day. So if they reached them by 1:30 pm--to use their example, then the notice that it's closed doesn't go up until 1 am. Seems they could have a simple read/counter/link to message automatic shut down so if they reach the magic number they put a`pplicants on notice it's closed. ) All the best. looks like it's heavily employment related--EEO, MSPB etc

My understanding with these jobs is that you could live anywhere as long as you flew to do the hearings in the assigned region. This posting, however, indicates that you have to live in the assigned region. I don’t think the previous announcement mentioned that. I’m not sure if that’s a change or if just wasn’t noted previously. I can’t realistically move to Colorado or Mississippi, so will pass this one up (and I didn’t even get referred last time, for reasons that escape me). What about transferring after 3 years or so?

If I recall correctly, last time this position was advertised (for other locations), only people claiming veterans points were interviewed. This post got edited without my knowledge or consent. The phrase I used was "affirmative action for veterans", not "veterans points". I think I know who made the change, and she made it without telling me. Since the internet is forever, I don't feel comfortable knowing that something that I posted, even "anonymously" got edited without even consulting me. This is a very dangerous path to tread. Everyone posting here should know that what you write here might get altered to say something completely different from what you wrote. Beware.

My guess is that the moderator was simply trying to avoid having the thread derailed by you (again) over your choice of words. As for consent, check the terms of service. You consented when you joined.

She was putting words in my mouth, without even noting that my post was being edited, which is the typical courtesy extended in such matters. Though I guess you don't understand such things. In any case, I've taken the precaution of deleting all my other posts on this board so that she can't try to make it look like everyone agrees with her world-view. I'm also deleting my account. Pixie has crossed a line, and I would suggest that anyone else here who is tired of her bullying can, like me, pull out of this board. It's a shame when someone's personal views get in the way of a relevant discussion.

When I edit a post, it shows as an edit by me in the lower right hand corner. It clearly shows as an edit by Pixie on the post at 8/29/19 at 6:12 pm. Pixie

The internet has created more drama Queens than ever. If you want to leave the board just leave, stop with all the departure drama. The board is not an airport where your departure needs to be announced. Hasta La Vista Baby!

OK, OK, let's calm down now. We're all adults. At least take the edit, make your point politely, no need to go all tangential. In the meantime anyone work for OGC FEMA in DC? Any thoughts on the job --it said "temporary " but is that now standard or is it temp work?

This is mostly correct. I received a NOR that said I was qualified but was not referred as they had lots of people with Vet Pref that no one was referred to hiring official w/o the preference. So it wasn’t that you weren’t offered an interview w/o Vet Pref, but you were not even sent to hiring official for consideration for an interview w/o the preference. Does not mean that will be the case all the time, but appears to be highly likely to happen again.

I know that outcome is quite common when it comes to 1811 series criminal investigator competitive service vacancies. Regardless of your experience, if you do not have preference points, you do not make it past the application stage.

For what it's worth, as to the issue of ag experience, apparently the "how you will be evaluated" section is all by OPM. As to ag experience it is "valued" but you need to relate your non-ag experience to what you'd be doing as a USDA hearing officer.
As to the KSA's
Legal, Governance, and Jurisprudence - Adjudication Legal, Governance, and Jurisprudence - Case Record Legal, Governance, and Jurisprudence - Hearings
I await clarification. If anyone reading this knows what this means, let me know.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, I think there were some clues as to what they think is important in these categories in the assessment questionnaire.
