Moving expenses are not authorized for any of these great locations. They must want a local person to fill these.

So, they're posting openings to shuffle ALJs around, but no new hiring announcements?...wtf?

We had a region wide call last week and were told the region is running out of cases.
So, I wouldn't expect the agency to be expanding the ALJ corps any time soon.

I think this talk of "economic apocalypse" is premature. The huge Boomer cohorts from the mid-to-late 1950s are retiring by the truck load every day. Gen-X just doesn't have the numbers to replace them. The economy will evolve - it always has.

It has done so throughout our history, including in the 30s and a decade ago. The question remains whether there will be years of pain as it evolves.

That could obviously change as unemployment benefits cease and small businesses that have been hanging by a thread give up hope and close for good.

I agree with you. Once U/E and PPE runs out, there will be spike in apps. Plus, there is already a backlog at DDS. 2021-22 will be interesting.
