I am deeply thankful for all of those, present and past, whom assisted me in getting the best job in government. Are you really Dr. Fauci?

Today I am thankful for those people who record free chair yoga videos on YouTube. Many of the neck, shoulder, arm, wrist, hand, and finger movements come in handy while sitting at the computer all day.

I am deeply thankful for all of those, present and past, whom assisted me in getting the best job in government. Are you really Dr. Fauci? Not sure Dr. Fauci would consider his job as that. Thankful for community. Thankful for people who recognize we all are far more alike than our superficial differences might suggest. Thankful for those people continuing to treat others with respect and decency. Thankful for another day and the chance to look into the eyes of a tot, of a vibrant senior, of a friend not seen since this all started. Thankful life is easy enough that I can muse about punctuation rather than worrying about how I will scrape together a meal. Thankful for all of you. Smile!

I am deeply thankful for all of those, present and past, whom assisted me in getting the best job in government. I am especially thankful to Pixie for starting this board with me back in 2007 and her continued presence on it. Can't believe it's been 13 years and we're still here. This board wouldn't be here without all of her contributions over the years. My thanks to Pixie, as well as all of you who made this board a great place for ALJ candidates over the years. Looking back, I think we have successfully accomplished what we set out to do back in 2007, which is to level the playing field for ALJ candidates outside the Agency. While the future is unknown, I am grateful for all we have accomplished already. Holiday cheers to everyone and best wishes for a better 2021.

While ALJD knows that the road in the rear view mirror had a few bumps, there is no question that you and Pixie did indeed level the playing field. Without this Board, my life would have been far different and much, much more stressful. Thank you.

SPN Lifer beat me to my initial thankful thoughts for today, particularly airdrop sharing with us all his incredible faith and strength in the face of terminal illness. Instead, today, I will say I am grateful for the resident humorists on this board. Humor is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place. -Mark Twain

Thanks, indeed to Pixie and @aljd and to everyone involved in keeping this board going. I owe you all everything for the best job I have ever had. Back in 2015 I got an email out of nowhere that my "appeal had been granted." I had not appealed anything, but I had been rejected two years earlier for the reason that I did not respond to an email from OPM which I never received. I did not understand the process back in 2015 and when I googled "ALJ process" I discovered this board and its amazing members. You helped me understand the arcane process, and I made friends with some wonderful people. I have stayed on the board since getting hired, and I hope the hiring reopens, if for no reason other than to pay forward what I have learned to applicants. Thank you. May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Airdrop was precious. A 10 year old child in my area was having horrific health issues and airdrop prayed for this guy regularly. And the kid’s mom and I’m guessing the kid himself prayed for airdrop too. I think mom joined airdrops prayer list. Airdrop had such a heart for this kid.. airdrop was a beautiful person who we lost too soon

Today I am thankful for Dolly Parton. No disrespect to Whitney, but I prefer Dolly’s version of “I Will Always Love You.”
“Jolene” on repeat was my constant companion during a crushing heartbreak, December 1998. Music can be salve for the wounded soul.

I am also thankful for the amazing people on this Board who have shared their insights, expertise, and words of encouragement over the years. Special shouts out to Pixie and christina for their wise counsel and guidance. I know for a fact that this Board contributed to my landing an ALJ gig and, for that, I am forever thankful. The Shark. (Sorry, I mean The Lion.)
