I was active in Rotary before I became an ALJ and I have been debating for about a minute or two about whether I should get active as a Rotarian again so I’m just seeing if there’s anyone out there that active and rotary

I was a Rotarian another lifetime ago before I joined the USAF back in 1986. Every judge in town was also a member, and the Rotary club strictly avoided political issues. I don't know if that still holds true today, but there is no prohibition I'm aware of against being a member of a service club. The Hatch Act may have some implications depending upon what Rotarians are up to today. So long as it's still community service and not politics, I think you're good.

I was until recently a Rotarian and for the most part people did not discuss politics and if they did they were advised not to do so.
Judges in my county tend to stick to things like library boards, having a concern that most bodies these days will end up having some political discussion. Why not attend a few meetings and see how the Rotary in your town functions--as you know, each has their own "personality."
One thing I did find was that politicians of a certain party were asked to speak. Only those that were elected but still, the statements made did have a political aspect.

Wow, this is something I never thought about. I won't be pursuing the ALJ gold ring, so it might not matter, but here in the town where Rotary has its world HQ, it is known mostly for the fight against polio. Thought of ambling over there when things open up a bit and seeing if they need some help with getting polio vaccines out to where they are needed. But open to enlightenment.

I belong to a different civic service club and am still very active. Seems like that is the most socialization I get to do these days.

I belong to a different civic service club and am still very active. Seems like that is the most socialization I get to do these days. Almost wistful. It would be so nice to be able to meet as a group in person and share the grace that comes from working together to help others. I miss the satisfied sense of a job well done after such labors. Here's hoping we can, it we choose, get vaccinated and try to get back to a world where we can be of service to others. Everybody take good care and stay safe. Smile!

There are many ways to be helpful. Yes. Here I suspect there are seniors who need help navigating towards getting a Covid shot. I might be able to help .
