I was so shocked when I saw the first one, that I didn't read further and see the second.
Another neat trick is to use apostrophe S when forming plural nouns. That has to be my favorite. Pixie

I will never learn unless I ask.
I seem to recall growing up that the use of an apostrophe with a subsequent s was appropriate to indicate a possessive state. However, there was a single exception - if the root name ended in an s you could also use a naked apostrophe without the s.

I always found the sole use of the apostrophe, when appropriate, to be a tasteful display. But, I will follow the guidance from above.

I would add “Saints of Newark” to the Halloween horror movie list. It was so bad compared to the Sopranos (penultimate to the Wire as the best tv series ever), it was actually scary.
However, I would recommend “The Night House” currently streaming on cable for a few frights and some psychological intrigue.

But the critics don't agree with me and I am admittedly prejudiced by virtue of my years slogging in the U.S. Army.

You wouldn’t know how to slog. You wouldn’t know what SOS means at meal time. You wouldn’t know how to set up a shelter half. You wouldn’t know what FUBAR means. You wouldn’t be able to list all the MRE meals by heart. You wouldn’t know how to communicate with your fellows by only grunting. You wouldn’t know what a “swamp cooler” is. You wouldn’t know what “0 dark thirty” means.
In all seriousness, thank you for your service.
Aim high! Respectfully, Tony (Chair Force, Ret.)

Band of Brothers better than the Sopranos or the Wire? Your comment reminded me of a VE who gives the infamous “one armed bakery helper” job when the reps ask their occasional handing and fingering hypo. Lol.
Since I was off topic, I’ll pass on responding. However, we can always revisit next month when the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day are upon us. By the way, Band of Brothers wouldn’t even make my top 10 although I liked the series.

In The Mouth of Madness by John Carpenter - nominally a movie about a horror writer whose books come to life; actually a meta commentary on the power of belief and the subjective nature of reality.
The Ring - Scary AF. That doesn't stand for Air Force either.

Here we are, the eve of All Hallows’ Eve.
Mischief abounds. The desire to create mischief overwhelms.
Should I feed the gremlins after midnight? Allow them to run through the sprinkler?
Maybe I should stare into the mirror summoning Candyman.
Perhaps I will set up the Ouija board or shuffle the Tarot cards.
Ah, I know! I’ll say it three times in a row… Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice… No, wait! Even better:
Application Manager, Application Manager, Application Manager!

I usually maintain the best horror film of all time is Jaws. (But, not really a Halloween movie). Is there another film that scarred more people? Or that could create a sense of dread with just a couple of notes played on the tuba?
Most of the time when people disagree it is based on the premise that Jaws is not a horror film. When asked why, frequently the answer came down to it's too good to be a horror film.
But, I wonder now whether it truly does belong in that genre.
I wouldn't consider Jurassic Park to be a horror film.
But, Cujo clearly is.
Where is the line drawn?
(Morale of the story- the true horror lies in having your brain transformed by the practice of law such that you now waste time on the simple question of what properly defines a horror film.)

Catherine O’Hara is far better in Schitz Creek.
