There are reportedly 157 positions being offered over the next week.
There were reportedly 471 people on the cert.
At least 314 people will not get offers.
If you are one of those who does not get an offer (I think I will be one), remember, there are more than 300 people with you, in addition to all those who did not even get on the cert.
Good luck to all. And congratulations if you get a call.

Thanks for your thoughtful post, Okey. You are right, we are in good company. And I have heard a similar no. as to the quantity of people on the cert so I am betting it is accurate. That is a boatload--almost 500 people.

Let us hope that those of us on this Board are the 'cream of the crop' and that we all get the offers - we have certainly shown that our interest is not just a passing one, or that we have subjected ourselves to this angst on a lark.

If memory serves, the percentage of offers made to members of this board closely tracked the percentage of board members on the certs.

Make no assumptions that you will get an offer. Make no assumptions that you won't. Make no assumptions. Only ODAR knows what it is looking for - if you are on the cert, at least in the top 2/3rds of it, I'd say you are in play. Nonetheless, as of now, they have made their choices and the rest will unfold as it will. If not this time, perhaps next time. The only thing for sure (besides death and taxes, of course,) is that you will make it through, no matter what.

Before I delve into my memory, this short vignette which is appropos of me:
A woman was visiting her elderly parents. While her mother was in the kitchen, the woman talked with her father. Her father told her that her mother and he had been to a wonderful new restaurant recently. The woman asked what the name of the restaurant was.
The old man got a blank look on his face. After a long pause, he asked, "What is the name of that whatsyoucallit, uh that, uh, flower? You know, the one with the thorns?"
His daughter replied, "Rose?"
The old man smiled and said, "That's right!"
He turned toward the kitchen and shouted, "Hey, Rose! What was the name of that restaurant we went to the other night?"
==========
The percentage in both cases was a deal less than 40%.
