My money is on June 21. Less than 24 hours notice would really inconvinience a lot of people.

WOW, YOU ARE CORRECT, WE WILL BE NOTIFIED BY FLYING MONKEYS!!!! I just checked with an insider who confirmed this. What is interesting is that they will not be government monkeys, but contract monkeys. From what I understand, a general bid was let to provide flying monkeys for the government. On the last day, in the last hour that bids could be submitted, Flying Monkeys America Inc., (FMA) submitted the low bid. There was rampant speculation FMA had spies inside the process. It was also suspected that FMA had made thousands of $200 cash contributions to various elected officials prior to the close of the bidding process. FMA boasts it is a minority American held corporation, but is really owned by an off-shore holding company that can be traced to the Chinese military. During EPA certification of their proposed flying monkeys, FMA submitted heavily "tweaked" monkeys which did not meet certification until the third and final test. The actual monkeys used under the contract do not meets EPA standards and emit almost three times the greenhouse gases and waste allowed under the contract. Finally, numerous complaints have been made to FMA regarding problems with their monkeys being unable to read the addresses they are assigned to fly to. The monkeys, because they were trained "offshore", cannot differentiate between state abbreviations such as IA and ID. This has resulted in hundreds of unnecessary flying hours and greenhouse gas emissions as monkeys look for Boise Iowa, etc. FMA has alleged the errors are due to the font used by the government and asked for 1.23 billion more than the contract amount to modify the basic flying monkey provided. The chairman of the flying monkey oversight committed, has now made 3 trips to various exotic locations investigating this matter, and is expected to recommended the additional funds be paid to FMA. In summary, if you see a smelly, confused flying monkey at your door, it may be good news.

Spoke to an ALJ friend of mine today and he said they got a memo yesterday saying the offers will come out "very soon." I'm wondering if that "very soon" is a measurable fraction of the entropic heat death of the universe...

THAT explains the offer to bid that SSA sent out for monogrammed, ergonomic water bottles! Flying Monkey is the code word for water bottle! It all becomes clear . . .

It was my understanding that the flying monkeys were provided by a vendor via an "off-the-shelf" GSA contract. This was verified by my son-in-law, an FAA "insider".
An inifinite number of monkeys flying in an infinite number of directions--Scarecrow gets an offer.

Ok, here is the complete sentence in the Judge Cristaudo memo of yesterday:
"For this year’s hiring, we expect to make offers to the new Judges in the next week or so."
The memo was released yesterday morning, so some (all?) of it may have been written last week.
