Btw, new forum record at 111 users this morning. Yeah, we broke the record! And thanks, ALJD for chasing down the offer information. If our previous samplings have been correct, our posters represent about 1/3 of the non-board world. So maybe something more like 9-12 offers have gone out today unbeknownst (sp?) to us.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
THIS IS ONLY A TEST. THIS HAS BEEN A TEST OF THE ALJ OFFER NOTIFICATION SYSTEM. IN THE EVENT OF A REAL HIRING YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED AN ALJ POSITION IN ONE OF THE AREAS SELECTED ON THE GAL PROVIDED IN YOUR INFORMATION PACKET. THIS CONCLUDES THE TEST.

If this had been a real notification, you should proceed to a lower level of your house, stay away from windows and glass, preferably in a bathroom or closet...

Something strange happened to me today, and I wonder whether it happened to anyone else. This morning I got an e-mail from OPM regarding the appeal of my score way back in 2007. The e-mail said my score had been increased and that I would receive my new score later. The timing of the increased score strikes me as slightly unfortunate. A higher score would have been a tiny bit more helpful a few days ago, especially since my appeal was pending for one and one-half years. I am not waiting for a phone call.

I got my call from falls Church too, they said my wife called and wanted to make sure I took the car in for service tomorrow. ;D
Anyone else think the e-mail method was better?

Very odd that they are moving at a snail's pace. They need to move up to Flannery's speed. I haven't received any notices about offers in my box either. Pix.

My wife correctly pointed out to me the limitations of our information. Not everyone is going to post on the board and those that do, may have higher priorities. Still, the quietness is unsettling.
It's almost like they said they would get offers out by the end of May and they did. Now they can get down to serious business next week.

Pixie you are right--It is truly a snail's pace, like watching your fingernails grow.

I seem to remember previously that a few offers went out on an advertised date (speculation that someone on the hill had been promised ALJs would be hired by that date). Then, the real flow of offers came a few days later. Any possibility they needed a few tokens to say offers started before June? My sympathies to everyone waiting. Don't give up hope!

ccj reported having a high score. Does anyone know whether the candidate who was offered Providence and the third offeree were also high scorers? It's possible that OCALJ is going down the list from Region 1 on through and if there is a decline or a delay in reaching the offeree, the rest of the offers are held up. Maybe the lack of additional offers being reported is because someone in Region I either hasn't called back or hasn't decided. It's a fairly unwieldy way to do it, but perhaps that is what is happening this time. Since there is funding for 157 ALJs, it would make sense for OCALJ to hire all 157 and not carry any over to the fall. I can't think of another reason for extending offers by phone instead of via email.

In my book, a high score is anything over 78.
I would be willing to go with a round number of 80.

I agree and would say 80+ would be a high score for purposes of my question.
