I did receive a pm a little while ago saying offers are expected to be concluded by next Tuesday. Source is a long time forum regular who's also an insider. So hope this helps a bit.

Thanks ALJD,
Was there any word on whether calls will be made over the weekend?

If they (presumably) aren't going to be calling over the weekend, I wonder why they didn't just start on Monday. This dark weekend is going to be a killer!

Was there any word on whether calls will be made over the weekend? Unfortunately, no word. So your guess is as good as mine. But I doubt it because if they are calling this weekend, it should be done by Sunday. If they (presumably) aren't going to be calling over the weekend, I wonder why they didn't just start on Monday. This dark weekend is going to be a killer! Maybe just to be able to say they met the end of May deadline? Yeah, I feel your pain. This weekend is going to be hard on many people. Please hang in there, this will all be done in a few more days.

Makes sense - not very many openings in Region I - should be able to complete that one in half a work day.
Maybe I'll just stay home on Monday

Based on last year's class, a score of 80+ is high. Also, in 2/08, one or two offers were extended a couple of days before the rest. It did appear to have been done to satisfy a statement which had been made that offers would be extended by a certain deadline. The speculation that the offers are being made in this fashion so that any declinations can be back filled makes sense. There is a lot of other hiring going on now, on a use-it-or-lose-it basis. Vacancies have to be filled by certain dates, or the spot is lost. Good luck to everyone. I hope to be working with many of you soon.

CCJ,
Congrats!! Very important! Please let us know what is your reporting date. Is it June 22 as it's been speculated? What did they say about reporting???

There are two report dates, June 22 and July 20. I suspect they are calling the June 22 report dates first.

I received a call today for Region 2. My score was 2-5 points lower than 80 so I have this sense that the overall curve may be lower than people surmise.

Edmund, What time did your call come, where in the region were you offered?

I got the call about 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard time and the offer was for Jericho, New York.

edmundburke Did you accept on the spot, or did they offer you contemplation time? Where they matter of fact or could you ask questions? Is Jericho close to your home? Were you an individual who said he would go anywhere? Sorry for the numerous questions, but I am curious and wondering? Regardless of the number of questions we ask those who have received calls, we will still be unable to figure out the Agency's process. So still I wait!

They told me that I had until Monday close of business to accept the offer. There was dialogue. My initial geographical preferences were limited--six in number--and confined mostly to the New York City metropolitan area.

Congrats eb!
BTW, doesn't the Monday deadline indicate they may be back-filling as they go along?

I believe they have done it that way in the past.

BTW, doesn't the Monday deadline indicate they may be back-filling as they go along? I would draw the opposite conclusion. If they intend to be finished by Tuesday, I would guess no backfilling. They did it that way with the 2008 classes. But my guess is as good as yours.
