To those of you in the July cert who have not been interviewed, when have our interviews been scheduled? I heard they were this week.

Anybody who received notice of being on the certificate from last week who has an interview date. I received a call today and was told that the interviews will be held the week of August 31st - September 4th.

Based on scientific study of offer dates made last year, Noah projects that the next batch of offers from the current certificate will go out on Monday, September 21, 2009.
This is delightful news.

I still think they will try to have the next batch on board before the end of the fiscal year. It is only 50 hires +/-, so I expect an earlier announcement date and a quick reporting date, say 9/28/09.

I asked at the end of my interview yesterday and was told offers would go out the last week of September into 1st week of October for an October 11 start date.

An October 11 start date makes sense because it is the first day of a new two-week pay period. New federal employees usually start a new position on the first day of a new pay period.
Did they say whether the October 11 date would be a report date to an ALJ's new home office, or a report date to the four weeks of training?
Also, would the training be in Baltimore or in Falls Church?

Sorry, that should be e-mail, as in the July 30, 2009 "Notification to ALJ Candidate" e-mail.

Yes, the "Notification to ALJ Candidate" indicates training will be in Baltimore. Here's the entire paragraph:
"If selected, you must be prepared to first report to your duty station for Phase I of your ALJ Orientation. During this time, you will meet and begin to work with a mentor ALJ. Phase II involves classroom training in Baltimore, Maryland. You will then report back to your duty station at the conclusion of Phase II for Phase III of your orientation. During Phase III, you will begin to hold hearings and continue to work with your mentor. We expect to have all successful candidates enter on duty during the fall of 2009; the exact dates have yet to be determined."
My interview was this past week and it was very pleasant - just as others have posted on the board. Also, they have begun calling references.

The March 2009 "Notification to ALJ Candidate" also said the training would be in Baltimore, but it ended up being in Falls Church, so I don't think that we can rely on that e-mail language.
I was actually wondering if one of the interviewers over the past few days spoke to the training location.

I asked about the training location as well. The one interviewer seemed to believe Baltimore was mistakenly listed instead of Falls Church.

There were ten interviews this week. There will be more the week of September 1 - 4. Don't know how many yet. Perhaps as many as 20 but probably less. If you are going to be interviewed that week you should get a scheduling call very soon. Remember, you will only be interviewed if you have not been interviewed, you will not be reinterviewed.

According to the info pasted on the Board, 10 were interviewed this week, maybe 20 will be interviewed between 9/1 and 9/4. Why the separation in dates and are the interviews for the same or different locations? Also, does that mean there will be one large class sometime in October, or a smaller class in September and another later on? Thanks.

There will be a class in October -November of maybe as many as 50. The interviews are for the same locations.
