The last go round started around 11 AM because of the West Coast people. There was a burst then a trickle. The slower the calls the higher the anxiety in the room. Hopefully it will go quickly as this is a smaller batch.

Transfers are moving much more quickly and should continue, I suspect, till offers are made. Mine was tendered on August 20th and accepted and my report date is October 11th, after completion of travel docket for current office. 2 others from my class, also, were given offers in past week with reports end of October and early November. Southerner - Did I congratulate you on the transfer? If not, let me just tell you how happy I am for you. I think I know which of our classmates got the offer and is reporting early November, but who else? (PM me so I can congratulate them too).

Patriot, you said: The Board is quiet because of a decision by ALJD to terminate discussion on issues other than the mundane musings of folks waiting to hear from SSA. It is not coincidental that the departure from the Board of those with the most to offer, combined with the shut down of healthy discussion and debate, has left this vanilla version behind that offers little for most of us. It is exactly what many predicted would happen. No one should be surprised by this result.
Can you just explain this a little? Was a thread discontinued?

Southerner, Would you mind telling us from and to which region(s) you and your two classmates are going? I'd like to know the cities too but would understand if you don't want to divulge that info. Thanks. 2 from Louisiana to Region VI, 1 from Louisiana to Region IV, 1 from Louisiana to PA. 1 more may be in the offing.

At a regional management conference meeting today, someone announced that 35 new ALJs will be hired agencywide; 35, not 50...

I believe your infomation is incorrect. The number is more likely between 40 and 50.

Kcalj,
I hope it is incorrect. I was surprised when I heard it. I just passed the information because I wanted to hear the input of others with probably better inside knowledge.
