Carpe, maybe we should call it the " ALJ Select Club".. "reject" was meant as a bittersweet joke.. As MarciaBrady has stated, we are definitely not rejects; in fact, on the flip side, we could look at ourselves as the elect, the chosen ones, if you will, the brethren, entrusted to forge a new path; we don't just scribble a few lines, we ponder, we fit the puzzle pieces together; we are empowered with higher knowledge. Many of us possess the productivity of Grisham, tempered with the philosophical depth of Kafka. Who knows better than us how to wrestle with absurdity, how to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune..? So as you forge ahead to the Field of Dreams, AAs, SAs, GSs, believe in yourselves, and It will come!!

OPM emailed my GAL form to me on Wed 11/18, and after I downloaded, filled in the form, and attached it to my reply and sent it in, I received an acknowledgment that OPM was working on it. It was the same acknowledgment I received when I requested the GAL form 11/10. The instructions gave 7 days to complete the form and fill it out.
I did have to download the form to fill it out w/"x" marks. The form was not usable online.
Now - trying to remain upbeat about the whole thing, in the 0-venture/0-gain mode.

Has anyone else that filed a request for the GAL change form still not received one?

I received the forms, downloaded them, filled them out, emailed them back but asked for an acknowledgement that they received the additional cities I included. That was the day the ALJ exam opened. Aside from the "automatic" form reply, I have received Nada. I have written twice since then to ask for acknowledgement, and haven't even received the "automatic" reply!

Evidently they do send out an acknowledgment. I received this this morning
This acknowledges receipt of your Geographic Availability Update form under ALJ vacancy announcement, number 2009ALJ-134575. Your revised geographic preferences will be processed as requested. As described in the 2009 ALJ announcement, this update will become your current list of record and will replace all of your previous selections. Once this vacancy announcement has closed, you will not be able to change your selected geographical location(s) until the next ALJ vacancy announcement open period.
If after updating your geographical location(s) you decline consideration for a geographical location for which you indicated availability, you will be removed from further consideration for that location. You will not be able to reinstate a location from which you have been removed until the next ALJ vacancy announcement open period.
Sincerely,
Administrative Law Judge Examining Office

I contacted OPM, informing them that I had been hospitalized on the days that the GAL could be modified and asked for the opportunity to submit a change. The answer:
"The ALJ vacancy announcement, number 2009ALJ-134575, provided instructions for updating geographic locations, applying for the exam and other related ALJ exam procedures. To ensure a fair opportunity to compete in the process, OPM did not notify applicants or interested parties regarding the 2009 ALJ announcement filing period or the procedures described therein. OPM did, however, inform the general public in a press release dated October 28, 2009 that the ALJ announcement would be forthcoming."
If I were not already three-striked, this would irritate me.

A cautionary tale to the newbies here. Can't say I'm surprised, morg. My deepest sympathies to you. OPM has enough trouble following the letter of the law--equity is beyond their ken. Until they re-establish their ALJ Office, this kind of malarky will continue.
