Looking for general feedback and opinions concerning taking a new position.
I am on the current cert that expires in Oct 2010. I work in a non profit doing SSA appeals. I am in line to take a new position that is not practicing law but would be Program Manager for a 10 million dollar grant. Assuming that we expire in October and if I want to continue I will have to re-apply take the test and interview. Would the additional management position be a plus or minus on the new application?

Wow, good question. I think that one thing that a lot of people will tell you is that you can't plan your life around possibly getting an ALJ position. Some of the most confident people on this board have been disappointed more than once.

Tab, will you be managing or administering a program that involves knowledge of an area of law? If so, I would think that an excellent complement to your legal experience. I also agree wholeheartedly with Tricia. Good luck with your endeavors.
