So now there are two groups of people on the register, right?
1. The people who have been on the register since 2007/2008, from among whom the March 2010 hires were drawn
2. The people who applied in November 2009, and took the WD/SI in April 2010, and got their scores yesterday
Will the new cert, which is expected any day now, include people from group 1 (whether or not they retested) as well as group 2?
Does the expiration of the register in October 2010 apply to both groups, or only to group 1? Will the people in group 2 have another chance to be hired in 2011 or 2012, maybe, if there's another cert? Or will everyone start from scratch again this October?
Thanks!

Most likely, and it is all up to OPM. And although they announced at the beginning that the register will expire in 2010, this is a very expensive and time consuming effort for OPM, a small agency. So I wouldn't be surprised if the register is extended past 2010. We will just have to wait and see.

It's my understanding that the 2009/10 applicants were to be ADDED to the existing register. There was mention when we applied in 09 that those already on the register would still be on it.
The only reason I would think they would let the register expire would have to do with the new hiring rules/procedures that are in the works, depending on how they affect ALJ application/hiring.

I received my NOR yesterday. It states eligibility expires in October 2010. November 2009 was my first application.
If the register expires in October 2010, wouldn't OPM need to begin the new application process for the November 2010 register fairly soon?
