Just wondering if anyone can recall from the past whether it is announced when SSA requests a cert or when OPM provides it. Does anyone know whether SSA actually requested a cert on Friday as was suggested likely? And for how many ALJs? I disagreeumption is that it will be consistent with the rest of this process, and that there will be no reliable information provided. The lucky among us will find out when we are notified that we are on a cert, and the unlucky when we see here or elsewhere that a cert has been issued.

Bowser, As I read over the NORS again and again, it seems to state that my name will be placed on a cert list, as if this is a fait accompli. I found that confusing given everything else I have read. 24kgoldengirl

Golden Girl, there are people more well-informed than I am, certainly, but what I see on the NOR is "your name (with your final numerical rating) will be placed on the register to be used as a source of names to make referral to agencies for employment consideration." That means OPM will put all these names on their register. Then the Supplemental ALJ information email says: "As OPM receives requests for Certificates of Eligibles from agencies wishing to fill ALJ positions, names will be referred in numerical order, taking geographic availability into account." That means that agencies like SSA can ask for a certificate, from the names on OPM's register, with scores above X, who have Y location on their list.

EVERYONE who got a score is on the register. The cert that OPM sends out to SSA will not include the entire register, but a sufficient number to satisfy the rule of three and cover the cities that have openings and the number of openings they have.
