Has anyone gone through the process of filing an FOIA request with OPM? Was it worthwhile or a worthless effort?

Cricket, I have a friend who filed an FOIA and got a bunch of stuff. He perceived what he considered as irregularities in the selecting process and filed a law suit in Washington. Three days later he got picked up by HHS.

Waste of time, unless you intend to file suit.

Waste of time, unless you intend to file suit. You don't think the information obtained through the FOIA would help one file an appeal of the NOR?

I believe there is an old thread on this board, maybe 3-4 years ago, that has information including a form letter request.

Looks like you need to refer to part 297 in that CFR chapter..the regs in that link don't go that far.

"ยง 297.105 Agency and Office responsibilities for systems of records and applicability of the regulations. (a) These regulations apply to processing requests from both current and former Office employees for records contained in internal, central, and Governmentwide systems of records managed by the Office.
