Judge Richard Harper was the HOCALJ in the Charlotte, NC hearing office forever. He died two days ago at the age of 91 (would have been 92 next week. He was still HOCALJ and died after a very short illness. I figured since he had been around so long, there may be a number of people who remember/know him and might wnat to know of the arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday May 22, 2013 between 6 and 8 pm at the McEwen Funeral Home at Shron Memorial Park 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte. Funeral is Thursday , May 23, 2013 at 5201 Sharon Road in Charlotte Sharon Presbyterian Church at 11 AM. There will be a graveside ceremony also.
Judge Harper was pre-deceased by his wife, Betty, and had one son, Rick.
Judge Harper was an extremely interesting gentleman and started out with the agency when they were doing the Black lung hearings (I think). He led a full life and was sharp up to the very end. I will miss him.

What a story of a life well lived. We should all hope to be well enough to work as long as we want to. My condolences.
