Dear Future ALJ Applicant:
This is a notice from your friends way back in 2013, where we all wondered and obsessed incessantly about the meaning of "See Details," also known as "SD," and "Awaiting Results, you will be notified," aka "AR," in the application manager. There were many theories exchanged, and we all looked to the archives to determine what it meant last time, but that evidence was inconclusive.
So, this post is meant to clear things up for you. In the 2013 application process, most or all of those with See Details, unfortunately, wound up not making it on to the next phase. This was true from round 1 to round 2, and again from round 2 to round 3. Those who were "Awaiting Results," on the other hand, have all or almost all been invited to the next round.
Of course, this does not mean the same will be true for you, but this is a data point that we hope will be helpful to you. If you have received the dreaded "See Details" message, please know that many of us feel your pain, and the rest sympathize. Indeed, some of us were in the same position you are now, but ultimately made it on after an appeal. Others of us received SD and a rejection in 2013, but have moved on to the next phase in the future application process that you're now in. If you have the AR status, you have very good reason to be optimistic. However, from our current vantage point we are not able to determine whether all AR folks have made it on or only most of them.
For all of you, best of luck in the process, whether this time or next.
Sincerely,
The Applicant Class of 2013

To add to gunner's post above, apparently one of our applicants, against all odds, actually managed to speak to someone at the "help desk" at OPM, and was told that See Details as application package status meant nothing. The caller was told that SD was not an indication that the applicant would be rejected. So, on future applications, even if OPM tells you that SD is not a bad sign, it probably is a bad sign.

Christina, yes, it's in a different thread. I have awaiting results.... I'm still not overly optimistic and as I said, I hope we all know soon.
