I booked the Marriott Courtyard ($179) across from OPM since my interview isn't until 10 am. More time in the morning to get to the SI than to get to the WD.

Just booked my flight and hotel...I opted to stay at the Best Western Georgetown which is .2 mile from the Embassy Suites and it shaved a $210 from the trip price...

I have 9/11 and 9/12. Would have liked earlier dates, but I'm going to stick. What time is your SI? Mine is 8:15 am. I am just wondering if they will have more than 1 panel running simultaneously. The last time around, they did have multiple panels running at the same time.

... but the room rates won't go up unless they happen to schedule an Everybody Loves Obama and Gay Marriage Rally for the same dates.... Wear you special outfit and use punchy lines like this and you're golden! Guaranteed!

I'm actually considering biting the bullet and flying in on Saturday, and having Sunday to chill before that big day on Monday. I could get there by 5 PM on Sunday, but that's with traveling literally all day. I can get out of DC in the evening after the SI, so I'd only be looking at 3 nights.
Thanks for the hotel tips. Am waiting a bit longer to book it all, as I'm not until late Sept.

Funky I just looked into but the Embassy has a free breakfast and I won't have as far to walk in my suit for the SI. I am flying in on the tenth and will leave sometime after the SI on the 12th.

I am an SSA employee. I applied thru USAJOBS and then clicked over to my existing Application Manager account to finish the application. Application Manager had my SSA email address as my contact info. (USAJOBS has a different email account.) I received confirmation of completion of Phase 1, an invite to Phase 2, and confirmation of completion of Phase 2, all at my SSA address. I have received absolutely nothing for Phase 3. My status in Application Manager is "See Details Tab," so I'm not hopeful. Nevertheless, I would really like my answer. Have sent three emails in one service ticket thread to ALJApplication@opm.gov (the help desk). Sent two more today after seeing that everyone invited is now receiving additional Phase 3 info. USAJOBS said it could not help, contact OPM via at the aforementioned address. I have attempted to call two numbers, an old one listed on this board, 478-744-2176 (which results in a busy signal), and 202-606-8100 (the main number for OPM, but you can't get transferred to the ALJ Program Office - it directs you to contact such departments online - and there does not appear to be a way to get a person on the phone through this line). I am out of options and go on vacation at the end of next week. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. Also wanted to add to the queue of "still waiting," for whomever wants to know.

I am one of the unlucky ones who received no notification last week, but I received my SI and WD/LBJT admission notices this afternoon, along with the rest of all of y'all. I appear to be in the first phase of August testing. My SI is in the middle of the day, which is annoying for multiple reasons, but it's a very nice annoyance to have to put up with. The Embassy rates were a bit rich for my blood so I booked a place via a discount website within walking distance of both test sites (even adjusting for the fact that it's August in DC and I'll be in a suit, walking distance). Congratulations and good luck to all!

I'm starting to think alphabetical by last name played a big part in scheduling. One of my good friends just emailed and has the exact same dates and si time as me. His last name starts w same letter as mine.
We are gonna share a room and cut costs. He halfway across the country from me so I think the last name thing did it.

I'm in the last half of alphabet, and clearly one of the later scheduled candidates.
