If you need to reschedule, can you choose your new dates? I don't want to request a new date and then have the test scheduled on a day that is worse than my current schedule. Also, has anyone heard back after requesting a new schedule? How long do you think that process will take?

OPM has taken a really hard line with reschedulings. The e-mail states that they may NOT be able to accomodate such a request (I guess the latter your date the less chance you have). And you are correct the new date may be worse and you will be stuck with that date. This is why I am going to make the date they sent me. There is another poster who asked for a date chance last Friday (see thread announcing e-mails) but no telling how long they will take to get back to you. Given the nightmares with e-mail communications going missing, not sent etc. it might be best if you stick to original date if you can.

When I asked to reset back in 2010, I could not request alternative dates. I suppose you could give them other dates that won't work, but they don't have to accommodate that at all, and then you are bound by what they give you. The request in 2010 didn't take them long to act on, as I recall.
Agree with exjag-- try to stick with the original dates if you possibly can.

I requested another date. Since the request was by email, I told them exactly when I was and was not available. I got back an acknowledgment of the request, but nothing else yet. Ironically, I'm in DC, so I can make pretty much any date in the next three months. They chose the one week I'm going to be out of town.

I also asked to reschedule and received an acknowledgement of the request, but no new date. Based on past experience, I am not hopeful... but it was absolutely impossible for me to make the dates I was given.

Thanks everyone. I requested a new schedule and told OPM exactly what dates I want. I also received an aknowledgement, but no substantive response. In the meantime, I made hotel reservations for my current dates.

Update:
Today I received this response:
"Your request has been processed and you will receive a new WD/LBMT and SI Admission Notice in a follow up email."
I haven't received the promised second email yet.

Maybe waiting for more to come in so that can just do swaps.

I haven't received the promised second email yet. 'Dear Gunner: At your request OPM has rescheduled your WD/LBMT and SI. We look forward to seeing you September 1, 2097. very truly yours, OPM" There, now you dont have to be in suspense

Maybe waiting for more to come in so that can just do swaps. I think this is exactly the case. They are not going to add dates to accommodate changes, they've already warned that changing dates may not be possible-- they'll do swaps, recognizing the requested alternate dates or not, and if they have an odd number of requests, the last one left over gets told no.
