Today's mix was probably the last of the south. Quite a few people from TN. Room is still cold but not overly so. More insiders than I was expecting. Broad range of ages and probably a fairly equal mix of men and women. And all the GW kids are here. I just can't respond to someone calling my beloved mascot Gamethingys. Boo. There were at least two graduates from that fine institution. Good luck tomorrow. Hopefully you're done early. My mind is fried right now. Didn't notice the cold until we were standing around before and after sessions. I'm sure I'll be begging for that coolness tomorrow during the SI. Best of luck to both of you. I don't recall the temperature during the interview, since I've blocked the whole thing out of my mind. However, I do know that my body did not sweat, even though my mind was sweating buckets!

At the airport, preparing to re-enter "normal" life and await the results of the last two days (and several months). I echo the comments of others - every person I've met along this journey has been a class act, including my fellow applicants, the OPM testing folks, and the interviewers. This has been quite an adventure and I wish everyone luck! From the Washington Post blurb mentioned on another thread, they may need to hire all of us soon!

Bask in the elation that you are done with the latest hurdle

I've been floating through the afternoon once done. I feel kind of like I did after the bar exam... no idea how I did, glad to be done, and will put it out of my mind for a couple of months until I get my score (I hope). I can definitely see how going through this process at least once before would be an advantage.

It probably helped with expectations for the WD and SI, but I am sure the playing field is a little more equal this time for newcomers versus previous test-takers.

Having just finished the process, I am glad it is over. That 2 x 4 just whacked me up side the head and then the drive home added insult to injury. Hope I successfully surface in the next two days. Counting the bubbles as i surface to make sure I don't get the bends. For those of you in the city tomorrow, the mall is just a hop, skip and jump from OPM. Lots of celebrations happening to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

Trekker, I can't imagine driving anywhere, and I've only finished Day One. I can't wait to get back to the beach tomorrow so I can use the last few days of my vacation to recover. :-)

I'm mostly a lurker. DH and I both applied; I am ODAR and he is EPA. I got knocked out after step 2 but he is in DC today taking the tests. So happy I have lurked, as I was able to "prep" him - ie: take a sweater, scout out the sites etc. He said DC is crazy busy with the MLK celebration. He can't believe he is in DC, yet can't go hear the speakers. However, he does get to have dinner tonight with DD who is in school at American : ) Will post more on trip report thread re: demographics etc. Good luck to all in the SI tomorrow.
