Has anyone else received an email recently on USAjobs stating that you have selected more than 10 GAL locations, and that you need to reduce it to 10 locations? I sent an email to the USAjobs team. What does this mean? I was never informed that I needed to limit my GAL to 10!

So a Saturday, which is odd in and of itself. Nobody else has gotten anything, or at least has not reported anything, in the 4 days since. And it makes no sense that they would suddenly, and after the fact, limit it to 10 locations. Are you sure it's not one of your friends trying to pull your leg?

The original application stated you may choose as many GAL locations as you wish. It would be highly unlikely that it would change now. Also, I do not believe OPM has ever asked someone to limit their GAL in the past. This email you received is highly suspect.

I have this same email message on the USAjobs website in my inbox. I think it pertains to the searches set up and not to the ALJ application process. But not really sure. It makes no sense that it would pertain to the ALJ app.
"You have more than 10 Locations selected on your Profile > Preference > Location selector. You will only be able to have 10 locations in your preferences and should update your profile at your earliest convenience.

I logged on and looked at the profile criteria I had set, and this is the generic profile for USAjobs and not the GAL listed in the application.

It's a completely separate thing. Your profile on USAJobs, and the GAL you submit for a particular application, are two different things. |

I received the same email when I signed in to see my job status (complete, thankfully):
You have more than 10 Locations selected on your Profile > Preference > Location selector. You will only be able to have 10 locations in your preferences and should update your profile at your earliest convenience.

So the thought is that I should not go back in and try to change anything? Thanks in

For the ALJ register, it doesn't matter- the GAL for that application stands on its own. It might affect other notices you might get about other jobs you've indicated an interest in.
I don't have any locations in my USA Jobs profile at all.
