Just reposting something PRIVATEATTY burried in another post, that is, "A Petition for Cert has been filed, BTW-- we can all cross our fingers." Is is possible then that today could be the day...or is it possible the OPM will laugh in the face of all petitions and release scores and a cert when it is good and well ready.... Someone once said, if it ain't broke then don't fix it. Its obvious this process is broken...thus I fear how long the next group of wannabe ALJs will have to wait while OPM tries to get its act together and create another exam.

Um, I think the reference was to a petition for cert (to the SC) in the Mahoney decision, nothing to do with the application process here.

I do not believe privateatty was referring to a Cert list requested by SSA from OPM. Rather, I believe he was referring to Mahoney having filed a Petition for Cert with the Supreme Court regarding the adverse decision in his case.

Agreed with all the above responses. I know a lot of you are grasping at every nugget you can find hoping for something from OPM soon, and a certificate request from ODAR to OPM soon after, but we shouldn't let our reading skills go downhill-- accurate review of the record is important to success as an ALJ.. Cert means certiorari, too.

Cert stands for certiorari in the Supreme Court context, as opposed to certification in our application context here.

Cut the Dark Lord some slack. Anyone who is not anxious is deluding us or themselves. Right there with you Sithy!

I agree. Not up to his usual witty quips, but the Force obviously moved him to try to relieve some of our tension with humor. Lighten up, folks!
