Alright, there is a new poll for you to express your happiness on whether you will be happy at ODAR if chosen for a position from the Register or not. Since, it is likely to be the only hiring agency this year from the Register.

I was told by an ALJ recently that a solicitation went out to all ALJs for positions in OMHA, including the Miami office. I wonder if a cert will even be necessary. Given all the above info, I would say likelihood of a cert is very small, if not nonexistent.

The only solicitation that I remember regarding OMHA recently was for HOCALJ positions in various offices. Those are only available for sitting ALJs. So there may be a OMHA cert. Given the small number they would hire and the limited geographic area, they would probably ask for more than 3 names per slot to give them a larger pool of candidates. You could expect some to drop out because while they gave a wide open GAL to OPM, they really have no desire to go to the limited OMHA cities. Others may just not be interested in doing Medicare work. So based on the number and location of hires, they could ask for 5-10 names per vacancy.

One thing I have learned is that there are no absolutes in this process. Those with high scores may find jobs at other agencies. You are a unique bunch. How many? Not more than a few and we may never hear from them. But we may hear about their interviews if we are lucky.
