For 10-pt veteran timeline milestones: I got FOADed in mid-June 2017 as part of the Spring 2016 class.
On 29 June 2017, I sent OPM an email requesting to be re-tested as a 10-point vet and provided the required documentation (see the OPM Vet website, referenced above).
Less than an hour and a half later, I had a secure email from OPM with an application form. Filled it out, including new GAL, and sent it back.
About a week later, I got an email from OPM confirming receipt of my application.
About a week later, I got the exact same email confirming receipt of my application.
Which brings us up to date.
I'm waiting on an email with a link in it to do the online assessments.
I will post here when that email comes through.
That Which May Not Be Mentioned Here is all FUBAR: a bunch of 2016 stuff has been deleted, "Replaced by New Submission" is in there, but it doesn't show the new documents as having been submitted. It says SF15 "Not Received," but that was one of the documents I had to submit to get the 10-point redo to begin with. So yes, FUBAR.
More to follow.
Colonel

As rp said, we are pulling for you. Looks as if a 2nd Lt. may be in charge of that which may not be mentioned in this thread. Let's hope no one leaves a map and a compass out where he might find them. Good luck to you. Pixie

Fellow 10 pt vet here. I'm on my third application. Twice I've been told that despite 23 years as an attorney, I didn't adequately identify my experience to sufficiently meet the 7 year requirement. For me, that message came approximately 2 months after application. I imagine that since you've already made it beyond that point, your mileage may vary ...

I am a fellow 10pt Vet and on the cert. list and being interviewed in August. If you did not attach to your application your VA SF15 and Letter from the VA showing that you have a disability rating that entitles you to a 10 Pt preference, you can still send it to OPM who can add it. Their email is ALJApplication@opm.gov .

As it has been a month since I applied via email and received email confirmation of OPM's receipt of my application, I sent OPM an interrogatory today as to when I might expect to see the email with the link to the online portions.
Will post accordingly.

Did you simply email your docs to aljapplication@opm.gov, or what? TIA, Ray

Yes, that's right. If OPM agrees that you are 10-point eligible, they will send you a secure email with the application link embedded in it. Keep us posted.

Col: Dear OPM ALJ: I applied for the ALJ exam on 29 June 2017 as a 10-pt veteran. I was wondering when I might expect to receive an email with a link to the online assessment portion of the exam?
OPM: Our records show you submitted your application to the closed 2016 Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) job opportunity announcement (JOA), number ALJ2017-847661, on 6/29/2017. Please note that in accordance with 5 CFR 332.311(a), OPM will hold the closed ALJ examination for 10-point preference eligibles not later than the quarterly period succeeding that in which the application is filed.
Col: Thanks, [OPM]. So would that be the July/August/September quarter, or the October/November/December quarter?

Respectfully, you are urinating in the wind. While I hope for your sake that your experience is different than mine, in 2 separate applications I did not hear anything until the 2 month mark. Any inquiry was met with a response as you received above.
Regarding the "which quarter" aspect of your post, I applied on the same day as you. I'm interpreting the regulation to require my testing or FOADing to occur no later than 30 Sep.

P.S. I've heard nothing yet either.

Roger, solid copy all, thanks. I concur with your 30 Sept Go/No-Go deadline. At this rate, we'd be time and money ahead to just apply when the new JOA comes out. Col

Col usmccol -- Sir -- you may want to re-examine that. If you get ahead of the folks on the new JOA it is possible for you to make a cert earlier than those making the register through the JOA -- just a thought that you could possibly get in ahead of a new influx of folks to the register.

Roger that, assuming the second email comes before the JOA is posted. In OPM-land, it's entirely possible the JOA candidates will be processed ahead of us in this pipeline. Not complaining, just observing.

I don't recall clearly because it didn't impact me, but I think that there were some vets that were going through the process around the same time or slightly before the 2016 gaggle and they finished well before us. southernfun was one and he actually made the cert right before our NORs and was hired. I think Lulu may have been another that started around our time and beat us to the finish line. See this thread, which indicates that they received their NORs about 2 months after testing. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3974/testing-july-12th-14th-vets
