Did ALJFAQ make the register? He has not been seen or heard from--- could he be under the Dark Sith Lord's Spell and now trapped in his $350K (annual) job?

He was SD status, so I doubt it. He's now most likely posting as radoy knuf.

I alluded to him, but now it's just starkly asked. I have to confess, I miss him. Like a Judge who, when he/she sees an atty on the docket feels their BP rise, but then smiles in a sardonic way...

I hear he's working on a new project with Ben Affleck... It seems he deleted all of his posts before he left. Wish him well in his quest to become an Article III Judge--perhaps he will mature in the coming years and realize his dream. Although presumptuous and pompous at times he did play a small part in making this place interesting.

That's very curious. I'm new to this process. Why would someone want to delete their whole history on the board? And if they delete their own posts, does that delete all the replies to their posts and quoted passages?

That's very curious. I'm new to this process. Why would someone want to delete their whole history on the board? And if they delete their own posts, does that delete all the replies to their posts and quoted passages? I don't know why aljfaq would want to do that, but I've heard of it happening with others. It's worth remembering that this board is as anonymous as you make it for good reasons. Sometimes people might think they revealed too much about themselves and want to delete their presence; other people might delete it out of scorn after hurt feelings (whether hurt by this process or by a rift on this board); and others might just be playing a game that includes vanishing at the end. Insert other reasons that I can't think up this early in the morning. With all people, it is sad when that happens. ALJFAQ had some great posts that most certainly would have been informative to the next group that comes around. I know that I spent a good amount of time reading the archives on this board. There were threads that were truncated by people deleting their own posts. It doesn't get rid of replies, but the reply doesn't make as much sense. I hope that when you eventually move on you will leave behind your posts for others.

I would say this had to be a special situation, as he could not have deleted his presence here entirely on his own, and it's not the normal forum policy, as described in the "Welcome" thread.

Members have deleted their posts and even their presence for reasons having to do with pride, anger and disappointment. The first two emotions were very evident here in 2009.
Alot of folks have a ton of pride, present company included. When they invest the time they have in the Board and in the process and have their hopes dashed, it can be a path that they would rather forget nd not allow others to see. I know from experience that many many attys who practice before ALJs in other Agencies believe that they are way smarter and more talented than any ALJ. I mean their salary proves it, right? To find out that their convictions are false can be hard to take. BTW, I was one of those attys...

Maybe if I use my name or another's name backwards, Dads Gipoom, and create a new account I can post some crazy and inane posts, too.

At first it is ok haha funny. But then it keeps going...like some kind of virus you can't shake. In the ER I would triage these folks as delusional. maybe 12.03 or 12.08 material. Of course my obsession with checking this board has landed me square in 12.06 territory!

I've thought about changing my username in the same account a la lurker2dibs, but I'm too superstitious at this point.
