I would just hand over my money and drink the beer, I suck at poker! How are you at espanol? I see you made the omha cert for Miami. As I understand it, being bilingual would hugely up your chances. I'd be happy to pitch in for some Rossetta Stone for you tiger'clock somewhere. Share the intel funky. I do not think this is a bilingual cert.

Funky, Miami isn't a bilingual site, but it couldn't hurt and would certainly make life with the locals easier.

Here is another possible discriminator: What if you're a trained linguist (just not in Spanish) and have years of experience communicating as an interpreter and through an interpreter (as necessary)?

I think anything that sets you apart from the pack in terms of additional skill certainly can't hurt!

I just don't know about that. I'm a pretty confident guy, but here we are - at the very pinnacle of a group of very, very talented people - the top 0.4% of the 6000 that applied over a year ago - and I know many of those people - this "competition" has not been against scrubs...

My lovely wife has grown somewhat weary of my constant reports to her of the debates we have on the board. But this morn, as we follow our sunday morn ritual of coffee and sunrise over the pond watching, I told her about the epic MJ versus Prince debate and that I'd voted The Purple One. She reminded me of a theory of mine (and others, I didn't come up with it) and convinced me I was wrong so I'm changing my vote to MJ.
The theory is that if God, the universe, the force or whatever bestows upon someone such great musical talent that they forever change their genre, the trade off for such a gift is an early death.
Think about it, from country (Jimmy Rodgers, Hank Williams, Keith Whitley) to the blues (Robert Johnson) to rock (Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Jimmie Hendrix, Kurt Cobain) to hip hop (Tupac, Biggie) to modern popular (Elvis, MJ) the ones that change the path of music die too early.
So, even if I personally prefer the sound and stylings of Prince, I gotta abandon team Ace and join team Nikster.
Not to mention, the hat MJ wore in that video is epically funk.

Okay, I've remained largely silent in this debate, in the interest of staying above the fray, but I've got to speak up now. The best worst movie of all time has got to be Hudson Hawk. And Prince wins hands down, glove or no glove.

You forgot Keith Moon and John Bonham! Keith was the (close) best--listen to how he drums in synch to Roger Daltry and Keith Townshend on the classic Who's ""Live at Leeds". And who can forget the drumming on Led Zeppelin's first album--my gosh, we all just shook our head in wonder. ETOH was their downfall but I posit it was a fatal case of TFM all the time as evidenced by their drumming.

I guess this discussion must be about musicians considered singly rather than as a group, because none of the names bandied about so far comes close to Zep.

As to the latter to keep it within my digital library and 1964 thereafter and thus is how I beg to differ: In order of orginal R & R: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Who, Hendrix (Experience), Led Zeppelin, Cream (John Mayall with Clapton before that), Kinks. Then there are the Kings (Albert and BB) and Albert Collins but we are trying to keep it within groups and all of the above can play the blues, with Hendrix of course torching the pack and Clapton not that far behind.
