But the radio silence is driving me crazy! If there is a lively discussion, at least I can be assured that everyone is as neurotic as I am. Insider vs outsider, anyone? Production quotas? C'mon, people, help me out here... Well we didn't get a cert for my birthday. Maybe for your birthday. Noooooo! My birthday has already passed ... we don't want to wait for the next one. Besides, I don't celebrate birthdays, just anniversaries of my 29th birthday.

Way to save FlaTreeFarm from a deep depression sealaw90. I could see him falling into this ... Edit: And I mean this in the purely good-spirited way that I don't (totally) blame him if the metadata shows that his post came before 14:15 Eastern time and he jinxed the certs.

LMAO! We're doomed! It'll never work! LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers this. Everytime I say "We're doomed..." all I get is blank stares.

This thread should be Huge Cert Humor. LOL! It could be Rouge Cert Humor, but that would limit the kinds of jokes that would be on topic.

What are the odds ODAR declines to use this register for a cert?

What are the odds ODAR declines to use this register for a cert? Can odds go lower than zero?

What are the odds ODAR declines to use this register for a cert? What makes you say that? Just curious. It's not paranoia if ODAR really doesn't use this register for a cert.

What are the odds ODAR declines to use this register for a cert? To echo others, less than zero, and why do you ask? There's no other register to use. If they want to hire ALJs anytime in the foreseeable future, this is the only route they have.

The "delay" and new process makes me curious. Why would the register be more focused on candidates with litigation experience if it was meant for ODAR? Could this register have more to do with the ACA and an anticipated increase in ALJs needed to handle appeals relating to its guidelines? It is odd to me that an agency who was "chomping at the bit" to hire has not gone forward with getting a cert in place. Even if ODAR has requested and received a cert, it has not notified candidates, requested additional information from them, and/or set up interviews.

And I am not DLOTS. Just a long time lurker. Some of the threads on here made mention of ODAR not being happy with the new process. What better way to show your opposition to it than by boycotting or not using it?

With the information we've received about OPM's new policy on certs, I suspect it takes longer to put the certs together and for ODAR to decide how to work with the process. Notification will come soon enough. There's no way they aren't going to use this register. The new application process was largely developed and driven by ODAR. Whether they "like" the resulting register or not, they have NO OTHER AVENUE by which to hire ALJs. Period.

The last time there was a new register (in 2007), it took a month from the time NORs were released until the first cert. Since it is a new process on top of a new register, we can probably expect a bit more time. That being said and logic being recognized, I still hate waiting and I'm tired of being patient!!!!! (there, I've gotten in my bi*ch of the day, so I'll be good now).

Perhaps, if you read some previous posts, especially those from funkyodar, you might be aware that SSA may be taking a little longer to straighten things out to it's liking prior to sending out cert emails. Please know that OPM changed the game plan for the federal agencies in how it will be handling cert requests from them. This in turn leads to the agencies having to take a little longer to determine their game plans to achieve their objectives of getting employees (ALJs) they want to hire and will be able to do the job to their liking. So, no, I don't think that it is unusual for it to be taking longer, since the rules of playing the game have changed during the process, IMHO.
