I have a very narrow GAL and a middling score and I received the call to schedule my interview on the first day. I had my interview on November 13. I wish we could figure out a pattern but I don't think that there is one. Good luck to all who are still waiting. As Bob said to me "Be patient". Well that shot my theory of "do the one city (or two) folks last" .... Maybe there really is no method to the madness. Or maybe Bob hates me (that seemed to get Gary an interview so thought I'd give it a shot haha) ? Despite the erroneous early speculation that I was a friend or family member of Bob's, I'm beginning to think he hates me as well. I'm wondering what I did to him....

I didn't see you with the group washing his car. Maybe that's it. Seriously, I am still thinking they will interview you before they start this round of hiring.

Happy Thanksgiving Tigerlaw. I appreciate the effort you are making. I happen to like the more cuddly Tigerlaw and would miss you if you got yourself banned by ALJD. Did I miss a flame war?! Dang -- those are fun, if you're not on the receiving end. I like all versions, whether he's Tigerlaw or Kittylaw. Variety is the spice of life, and the many faces of those on the Board are mostly entertaining. This is a tense time, fraught with uncertainty, and the occasional flame war or silly string of jokes is a good way to bring us back to earth. P.S. Do I get bonus points for the use of "fraught?" You ought, or it will have been for naught.

I'm going to rake and bag Bob's leaves. Try cleaning his gutters. Just don't send fruitcake. That can cut both ways. I agree with Gary, you will be interviewed. Under the new procedure, I don't think SSA can extend offers until everyone on the cert has been interviewed. We've waited this long, what's a few more weeks? <said with a straight face even though I compulsively check the Board/email/phone battery every few minutes>

a "kinder and gentler" tigerlaw Those words don't even look right in close proximity to each other.

Ace, Kinder and gentler much like how a ghillie suit is kinder and gentler compared to an armored brigade. Different tone, same ultimate effects. Not sure I want to be on the bad side of any version of Tiger -- or any veteran of the Board. Memories live on a long time.

I don't want to hijack second cert cities not hiring thread.
Moopigsdad said in that thread: No, the hiring committee is not meeting until next week according to my sources.
So, offers starting Dec. 22?

So, offers starting Dec. 22? Depends on how long they need to make decisions, which depends on how may they plan on hiring at this time and their ability to reach people they want at this time based on the locations they're hiring for. If they're only going to hire 25-30 in the initial wave, they shouldn't need to convene as long as they did last time. I would think the 15th would still be possible, if not earlier.

Hey moopigsdad, did your source say the committee would be meeting for 1 or 2 weeks?

Nothing was stated about how long the hiring committee was expected to meet. There was a hint the January class may be a smaller class.

But judging by how many people were interviewed, I think that small January class may have grown. Do we have any idea of how many total were hired interviewed?*
*Obviously, a Freudian slip. Or wishful thinking. Or something.
