Realistically, this is the first possible day that offers could be extended. Hiring committee meets on Monday, approval of the selected candidates by the PTB on Tuesday. While I would put the odds of offers going out today at .000001%, the calls will begin soon. Good luck to all. More frequent refreshes of this board will become the norm. I hope my F5 key does not wear out.

As we have seen, the federal contractors are still contacting references and supervisory references from the candidates paperwork. Hence, I don't see anything happening until the preliminary work is done. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I think the earliest offers will go out would be Friday of this week, but probably not until next week, if then.

Technically, they could make an offer if the reference/background checks are complete on the three high scorers for a city and they have someone "highly recommended" BUT then they can't use that person to get around someone in another location. I think that, having waited this long, the PTB are going to consider and rate each candidate as their reference/background checks are complete and get the lay of the land for the whole batch of candidates who interviewed before deciding what order to use and maybe even which slots to fill for the first class. I think there is a method in the madness, although despite our best efforts, we don't know enough to figure out what it is! I think they want to amass all of the data available before trying to solve the puzzle and get the best class possible, even if it takes a few more days.

I think offers start on Friday. I say this because I believe firmly they want this class in the books by December 23. So that when they get back together after New Years they have time to get a full class together without worrying about this one.
Has anybody heard anything about when the trainers are scheduled to be in FC after the Feb training?

Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is an all expense paid trip to DC for President's Day. Or a new bike.
Sincerely,

Gaidin: Training class in FC starts on Tuesday 2/17th. Confirmed. See you there! Would that suggest a report date to your new city of February 2? Is that how it works? Two weeks at your new office then out for training?

If you are an early offer recipient and the poll isn't up yet please let someone know you got an offer whether that is a posting or a PM to someone who will put the word out and protect your anonymity. We don't want folks to miss the call or email because they aren't expecting it. In the 1st cert there were lots of delays because they had to wait until they got an answer or 48 (now 24) hours before moving on to the next candidate.
CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

And now's a good time to print off the list of cities you said you would take if offered, and go over it with your family to see if everything is still good to go. Ain't nobody got time to wait 24 hours for you to accept a job offer!

Not sure where to put this, so am putting it here. Late yesterday I received an email confirmation of the telephone call I posted about (interview after holidays for my one city cert, or is it one cert city?? not sure haha). Today received a call from a reference/supervisor-type (I think I listed him as a "supervisor" because we had an office sharing arrangement while I was self-employed) and he was called THIS MORNING. I have NOT interviewed yet. I had almost emailed all my references to say "stand down" until after the holidays and am SO glad I didn't!
