I think the best way to solve this is to anonymously report all offers through ALJD and ask her to put up a thread listing what offers have been accepted or use funkyodar asking him to do the same. This way anonymity exists, but all offers will be listed.

Judge Funky may be a little busy... I'd hate to put that pressure on him while he's in Judge School. That being said, I agree. Perhaps our more seasoned members could help out here? I suggest posting in groups, e.g., 5 offers accepted, score range 95-97, in East Crapland, Amarillo, and Bigcity Suburb. I don't think report dates are as important, but those can more easily be self-reported anonymously. I think we should reconsider the myriad of other polls. I think simple polls where a responder can't be individually identified are best: insider vs outsider, vet vs nonvet, etc.

This is a great thread and runs to the heart of the Board.
I rather agree with our Seminole fan above, futuressaalj. We used to have a "karma quotient" tool on this Board but it became a sensitive subject and was removed by ALJD. You reap what you sow--as one or two departed Members have learned the hard way (or maybe learned again--or not?).
At any rate, at the end of the day what is the absolute worst case scenario? Some litigant comes up to me and says..."i know who you are--YOU'RE PRIVATE ATTORNEY!"
Do I give them the satisfaction of a response to that? Of course not. I am an attorney at heart and if I can't act like I don't know what they are talking about and give them short shrift in their rather despicable attempt to cozy up or whatever, then I'm hardly worth my salt. Now I am sure that there are folks who say that they are worried about Puzzle Palace and their counsel--OGC--going after you. For what and how, my dear Watson? I do want to stay anonymous, make no mistake. But I don't want to let paranoia beyond the prudence stage run my life and deny me the enjoyment I get from posting.

Don't get me wrong... he can and most likely will learn plenty, but my guess is he'll actually be a little bored until late next spring. He'll be well out of judicial training by the time second cert offers are made and well into the land of 10-20 hearings per month.

I think there was some issues with to many polls but honestly if Funky hadn't told us he was going to Middlesboro nobody would have known who went to Middlesboro. I understand that some folks would prefer a greater degree of anonymity than others but as to MPD's idea about sending a PM to someone and having them report thats fine and certainly many people used that method last time but I personally am going to scream it from the roof tops. I think people should use the level of anonymity they are comfortable with. However, I want to reiterate the only way the poll data is matched to anyone is if that person has already dropped their anonymity and honestly I think the score guessing is pointless and probably gets it wrong.

Hi Manatiki - I haven't been on the forum for a while (since we got the NORs, actually). But I'm your fellow newbie in Columbus. Look forward to meeting you on the 25th.

Kinda thinking JHope's offer is kinda huge, if true. Of course, that assumes the offer was made today and not some point before Baglady's.

Gaidin, I agree with you. I just made the suggestion about using funky or ALJD for those who wish anonymity from others. I have no problem people knowing who I am, but it won't change how I make decisions as an ALJ. Either the proof is there or it is not. I chose my moniker and avatar to honor my bulldog and I will keep it in her memory. Many people know who I am because of PMs between us. I have nothing to hide.

MPD you do your fine pup proud with your posts and avatar. I wouldn't change it either.
My biggest concern is that people understand that the polls don't breach anonymity. People giving information here in discussion threads can but the polls don't in and of themselves do that. I am concerned that to much focus on the polls in the current discussion could discourage participation in the polls.

I got my offer on July 24. Sorry to raise anyone's hopes that things would move that quickly from offer to start date. I just haven't had time to get on this board in a while. Saw request to post offers and carelessly followed that instruction.
