I think that a good majority of people could start with two or three weeks notice, but there could be a few outsiders who might need more time and they could be assigned a later start date and training. Gary or ok1956 any calls regarding interviews yet? I am a little angry for you two myself right now. Keep up your spirits as your time will come.

What Miss said. I need 12 hours to wrap things up and at least 12 to get to most of the places on my list.

I think the 6-8 weeks from Nov. 18 for offers to start may be unworkable, especially in light of the 24 hour decision period. Under that scenario, they may not start offers until Jan. 13 for a Jan. 26 start date? If multiple people take a day to decide, the final offers may not occur until after the start date. And I am not questioning the veracity of the info, I just don't get why they would wait to start the offers until mid January.

Maybe those of us who can start work tomorrow are being scheduled last for their interviews.

The "like" here is not really a "like" but more a show of solidarity!

Okay, I'm still new here, but could you spare a little of that righteous indignation for me as well, lol? I'm still waiting for the call as well. Thanks.

I believe that to obtain a reasonable number of new judges for the original timetable start of late January, offers need to go out on November 24 or by no later than December 15. ? This would give both sides of the offer and acceptance process a chance to enjoy the holidays with some sense of accomplishment.

They will not start offers until they are done with interviews. How much notice people get has never been a big concern for ODAR. It has given as little as two weeks, IIRC, three to four is common.

What O53 said. I think it starts in December but it won't be before the last interview is held.

That's where all this math breaks down - ideally they would want to get it done before the Christmas Holidays/use or lose season. I agree they won't start until after interviews - which now run as late as December 5th (unless I missed some reports of later) - SO, 2nd and 3rd week of December is possible - but they would have to be doing the parallel processing now. I don't think they can put everything on hold, then do the deliberative process (was about a month, give or take, last time between last interview and offer) - THEN start making offers - that would blow January 26th out of the water. That kind of timeline puts the EARLIEST offers at 3 weeks out.
Now, I can see them starting offers in December and - perhaps - having to suspend them and do the last ones the week of January 5th - that's at least possible - but if we don't see offers much before December 12th - 15th timeframe - I will begin to seriously question if they'll be able to keep January 26th start, February 16th training.

Too pessimistic Ace...i don't think there will be any problem to get a class of 25 for Jan. 26th start. The following class would be bigger. The fact that they haven't contacted many people's references or finished background checks gives me pause as to them being able to make offers in December, especially since 15 still need to be scheduled for interviews. I will stick with the January offers for now unless made to first centers like you. Good luck my friend.
