Back to the purpose of this thread. saao is at the heart of the matter as far as I am concerned. There are many fewer insiders on this register. And it is the insiders who make up the bulk of the wide open GAL group. Fewer insiders means fewer wide open GAL's. A lot fewer I believe. The GAL poll confirms this. 60% of the remaining register have four or fewer cities on their GAL. That is really something. This is a conundrum for SSA to try to hire the numbers they need from a register that is likely under 650 at this stage. All of those on the register outside of the most popular locales for transfers are in a very good place. There is no place else for SSA to get the bodies at this point. The very small group of new interviews from certs that cover almost 40% of all ODAR offices is just more evidence of the situation. Que Sratty ... It's a great time to be on the register! Double like!

Glad to offer any help I can. This board has been an invaluable source of information and solace through this interesting process.

I was in the 3:30 time slot yesterday. There were 4 in my group of whom one was an insider. So far this interview was the most enjoyable part of the process.

Welcome, commodore! A one-star, a surface action group commander, or a video game system?

Welcome, commodore! A one-star, a surface action group commander, or a video game system? Or a Vandy alum. Its also an honorary title in some states. See Vanderbilt, Cornelius.

I interviewed for one city on the 13th at 3:30. Five interviewed at that time. Made two new friends. Hope to see both again. Felt like I bombed the interview.

If you did bomb, you are in good company! This made me laugh. I'm sure both of you did fine in spite of what you think. But I can picture people walking out into that parking lot in the canyon of buildings thinking, "What the #$@! just happened?" You definitely weren't alone on that score. But it's been said 100 times. If you made the register you are eminently qualified for this job. Don't sweat the small stuff.
