Congrats shoocat, I was in Columbia for basic training in 1978 and still had a blast downtown on pass. Hope you enjoy and welcome to ODAR!

Congrats to those with accepted offers and patience, keep your chins up, and good luck to those of us still waiting to hear.

To put things in perspective, let us remember 9/11 I don't really think we can blame 9/11 on SSA.

Those of us disappointed about not getting an offer now should put things in perspective on this anniversary of 9/11. No one is saying that the SSA caused 9/11.

Only one morning a year when I compulsively check CNN on my phone, even during meetings (except court, of course), up until 1000 or so. Just in case. Much like a coasthingycher must've felt on December 7, 1942...
Lots of people say "never forget" -- I pray my kids will be able to, because I never will. Shiny medals don't make up for bad memories.
Sorry for the downer, folks. I'll send something cheery and pleasantly random and irrelevant tomorrow. In the meantime, my most heartfelt congratulations to those who "got a letter in the mail" this week! It's up to the Board to debate whether, according to the next line of that cadence, FC counts as "war" or "jail". Discuss amongst yourselves.
Be safe. Pray. Peace.

Despite the death and destruction, there were real stories of heroism during 9/11. Watching some of the 9/11 stories certainly puts our current disappointment in some perspective.

And there was the celebration of the 16th birthday of the last surviving search & rescue dog that served at Ground Zero.
