But if we're not careful, we might need some spare change! See what I did there? We're back to the awesomeness that is Duane [and Boz of course!].

I believe Fenton Robinson had the original version of Somebody Loan Me A Dime. The best thing about this version (and album) is that Duane is on guitar. That means it was probably recorded in about 1968 or early 1969 when Duane was doing studio work in Muscle Shoals/Sheffield. After the ABB started gaining momentum around 1969, he didn't have time for the studio. Pix.

One of the giants of country music has left us. I would like to post Mr. Haggard's rendition of "It's All in the Game"--a title that seems to fit the theme of this board, but cannot do so now because I'm at work."
Once in a while they won't call, but it's all, in the game.
I love Hag's delivery on this song. The guitar player is Roy Nichols.

Good choice, Gaidin. "Mama Tried" was a staple in the Grateful Dead's set list for many years.

His latest duet with Willie Nelson - It's All Going to Pot - seems meaningful on several levels. Sorry to see him go. He was good in concert and had some very talented musicians in his band.

I'm pretty sure Hold On John never applied for an ALJ position, even though he spent some time in immigration court. Nonetheless, he was able to imagine the wait.

Gaidin, just saw your Springsteen post - finally saw him in concert for the first time about a month ago - blown away! Played for 3.5 hours; played the 2 songs I was hoping for - it was outstanding - can't figure out why in the world I waited so long!

When I went through the process for the first time in 2013, I had just finished a hike across Spain and was really looking forward to the chance to start a new part of my career and attain a goal I set for myself many years ago. Then I got cut after the DC testing and decided not to appeal because of family reasons. I pretty much stayed away from the board until I heard about this new round. So I came back. The 2013 cut really bruised my self-esteem but I am just going to hope for the best and once again, I am headed out for a hike (this time in Scotland where I will be with some awesome lawyers and doctors). When my adult daughter is feeling discouraged (she has a congenital birth defect but works full time, is finishing her BA and suffers through terrible pain) this is what I send to her.
