I received an email from USAJobs this morning telling me my status had been updated and that I should go to Application Status on my USAJob account to see the change. I suspect it is a reflection of the NOR being released yesterday.
HOWEVER, that application is gone as of a few days ago, remember?
Anything to be concerned about?

I received the same email, only to find that the entire application is now gone. It does say that applications are deleted after 36 months, so I am guessing that is what happened, although it seems odd that they would send you an email and message you in a USA Jobs Inbox just to let you know your application status has "changed" and the change is that it has been deleted. I guess it is just one last Mind-Fu*k compliments of the entire process?

You guys can pretty much stop obsessing over opm and app manager at this point. If you made the register you are all but done with them.
They will be of no further insight. You will only deal with them again in two instances. 1. You won the game and get the job. Then you have to fill out tons of on boarding employee paperwork for them. Assuming the Chinese let them send it to you.
Or 2. Somewhere down the line after several rounds of certs you notice that others are getting certed for cities on your gal and they have lower scores than you. And you arent making those certs. That's a pretty good indication you have been 3 struck and opm can confirm that for you.
Otherwise, all your angst and fervor should be directed at the hiring agencies from this point.

Here's a whole thread on the topic for your reading enjoyment that basically concludes the vanishing applications are an administrative matter and have no meaning with respect to anyone's application. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3665/application-usa-jobs

All of this is understood and makes sense.
But, what I expected was that I would no longer receive any notification concerning this application since it had been deleted.

While the link to the application is gone, the application is still there in the background. I copied the link before it disappeared, and it still takes me to application manager if I am logged into USAJobs. You will continue to receive notifications (at least one more with a notice of appeal rights) until OPM stops sending them.

Further proof of OPM's incompetence. No wonder they were an easy hack!

We can add that to the oddities of Application Manager, as we put it behind us and enter the Brave New World of deleted applications. Leave the stressing over every nuance of Application Manager to the Refreshees who will soon be applying.

Yes, it is time to move on to another obsession. This one has been beaten to death. Gary's comments above reflect my feelings exactly: "We can add that to the oddities of Application Manager, as we put it behind us and enter the Brave New World of deleted applications. Leave the stressing over every nuance of Application Manager to the Refreshees who will soon be applying." This thread has revived the same comments as the prior worn out thread. I am going to lock this one. Pixie.
