As far as the ODAR interview is concerned, how will they contact you, i.e. by phone, email, or both. I would like to think they would do both. This may sound silly to ask (or ok, stupid), but I don't really use my landline anymore (which means I should just switch my contact number over but I really hate messing with stuff, if you know what I mean, especially so late in the game).
this leads me to thinking also, if you need to change contact info., who is the conduit for the info, still OPM?

Reaching into the memory bank here -- they can contact you by phone or email. If they try one and don't get you they will try the other. As far as contacting OPM to change your phone number, you could have to send an email to the ALJ so-called Help Desk. It can take them forever to get back to you, but you will hear from them eventually.

Phone first. They follow up by email.

You WILL get a chance to change your contact info with ODAR before the call to set up the interview. When you make a cert, you will get a questionnaire to fill out (same document you list your nine references on) that includes your address, phone number(s), email, etc. Go ahead and change the number with OPM now, but you will be able to give it to ODAR directly as well before the interviews are scheduled.

erik, it's relatively easy to change your contact information in USAjobs, just log and go to your profile.
Also, it's not a DC number, the call generally comes from Falls Church, so think northern VA area codes.
With teleworking, it could be a weird area code, so basically you need to check this board and when the calls begin, start showering with your phone , sleeping with your phone, basically everything we tell our teens NOT to do with their phone, but you have a good excuse to break the rules!

Are the "job interviews" at the hiring city's office location? or are all interviews held at Falls Church?

Thx Rusty. I did change my email way back when and it was through one of the help desks. I ll check out usajobs as well.
To be honest, i m really afraid to mess with anything. Way back when, i changed my back while in the army and boom it took two months to get paid until it got sorted out so i m releuctant to change anything.
I know to check for 703 and its progency, i use dc to refer to that whole area. i got use to calling it that because most people have no idea where arlington, alexandria, falls church, are located- easier just to say dc. Thanks again my peeps!

You are correct, there is no local input on who is hired. Erik: Those locations are all inside the beltway, and are loosely considered to be DC. So you are exactly right about calling it that. I do the same when talking to people who don't know the area. BTW, you should get a haircut before your interview. Pix.

Are the "job interviews" at the hiring city's office location? or are all interviews held at Falls Church? The "hiring city" isn't the hiring city at all. That office has NO input into who gets hired in their office. And, just because a city gets a cert for hiring does not mean that they will actually get a new hire. Some slots go unfilled.

LOL. Ok, i ll get a haircut, but i stop at taking out all my piercings!
for those that don't know, that's Will Ferrel as Ashley Schaeffer from "Eastbound and Down." Aside from a mullett at one point in the late 80s, early 90s, its been all buzzcuts for me!

I have been before an SSA ALJ that was wearing a ponytail. Fixed it for you. I don't think you meant you appeared before an ALJ and you were holding someone's ponytail...
Of course, maybe a thread of funny things people had with them when they when they appeared before an ALJ would be fun

It's not until you get that notice and submit your paperwork that your phone will ring or buzz or whatever.

Mine's changed to a ring tone of Sammy Davis, jr. from Laugh-In singing, "here come the judge, here come the judge, order in the courtroom, here come the judge."
