I'm hoping soon. Based on the notices tab on OPM's ALJ website, last year 10-preference eligible were allowed to take the online component from 6/22 to 7/6 and were notified of the results on 8/14.

10 pt vet, tested online end of April. Just got an invitation for the in-person testing and SI. No date yet for it:
"You will receive separate scheduling notices informing you of the date, time, and location of the WD/LBMT, and the SI, as well as other instructions about the process."
so of course good news, but will be better news if the dates invited are ahead of the 5,500 survivors...
For a data point. It was about six weeks from when my online testing window closed and I was invited to the next stage.
If that holds true for the new applicants then they are looking at mid to late August to get results.

My guess is you'll do everything from here on in front of the 1000 or more of your closest friends who will take the online testing beginning next week. However, bear in mind I've been wrong before. Frequently.

I completed the online component on 3/21/16 and just received my invitation today to participate in the WD/LBMT and the SI. Took about 12 weeks and I applied initially in November of 2015.
I'm happy to have the good fortune of moving forward but I am fully aware that unless they give me a chance to expand my GAL, my score - if I get one, will be completely useless. Nevertheless, I thought I would pass along the news to any of my fellow vets who are keeping track.

Nervous now. I did the online testing as a 10-point vet in April as well, but did not get the invite. ....Does this mean I most likely did not score well? Or will more invitations be forthcoming this week?

Or will more invitations be forthcoming this week? They'll let you know whether or not your online score was high enough to be invited to the big DC dance. Whether your not hearing from them yet means anything as to whether you'll ultimately get the invite I don't know. Be sure to keep checking your spam folder until you hear one way or the other.

The notification email came from a different email address: PDRI-USAHire vice the online component email address: assessments@usahire.opm.gov
The subject made sense though: Invitation to Participate in the Proctored Assessments in the ALJ Examination

I received my proctored exam date yesterday as well. I am scheduled for July 13 but I have requested to reschedule to the following week because I will be out of the country that week.

Surly, that's great that you got your date too. I hope you have a great trip planned. I'm now starting to wonder about how to prep for the SI. I hate panel interviews...

I hope you have a great trip planned. Funny you mention that, I fly back into DC (where I work and live) the evening before my rescheduled date of July 20. I will be well rested since I am coming straight from vacation in the UK but I also expect I am going to be super jet-lagged.

If surly hadn't rescheduled we would have been in the test together.
Now I need to figure out how long it takes to get a NOR from this point... back to the crystal ball.

Vets testing this Summer may possibly be on the register for 6months or longer before this large group joins the register. If this plays out, January to June of 2017 could be a great time for new 10-pt vets to be on the register! Generally everything gary says is accurate and can be treated as gospel, so reason to beexcited if you are testign in DC this Summer.

January to June of 2017 could be a great time for new 10-pt vets to be on the register! SF, I saw Gary's post earlier this morning and it seems to be great news for the new April applicants. Until I have a score (and an expanded GAL), I'm reserving judgment as to how much it will or will not help. That said, I'll take all the help I can get and I am excited to get through the DC testing phase so I can see whether I need to reapply or have been placed onto the register (accepted into purgatory).

I have a procedural question. A 10-point veteran submitted an application under the open ALJ job announcement. The veteran was notified that he did not meet minimum qualifications (missing a document), and he was given appeal rights. Can that veteran elect not to file an appeal, and instead, file a new application under the provisions of 5 CFR 332.311 which allows a 10-point vet to open the ALJ exam at any time?
