Given fact they only seek 1 judge plus the incredibly small application window I suspect an internal candidate is positioned for this slot. Pure speculation on my part.

Based on recent developments I'd call a 4 day application window an eternity.

For those able to report in person in Denver CO, only. Their application process is very different, requiring a writing sample, and an essay on how you meet the standards, all of which is to be emailed to the email address in the application.
Editing to add: I deleted the reference to how long the writing sample needs to be, lest anyone be misled. The most reliable source for information about how to apply is the job link, at the beginning of this thread. May the odds be ever in your favor.

When I applied for the ALJ position way back when, my writing sample was 4 pages single spaced. It was the judge's preference to save a tree and single space his decisions. If I were applying for this position I'd change it to double spaced, which would still put it well under the limit. I don't see where the announcement has specified whether it's 15 pages single spaced or double spaced.
But since I turned in my writing sample way back when, I now have much better written decisions to select from. I could be pushing the page limitation.
