For those who are turkey fans (or preparers, or both), tests by Cooks Illustrated show a significant increase in the brine effect for Turkeys that have 48 hours brining vs 24.
I leave the dry rub brining vs immersion brining to you. As we don't have fridge space or daytime temps low enough I'll be doing the dry brine.

The Buffalo Bills (7-3) play at the Detroit Lions (4-6).
The New York Giants (7-3) play at the Dallas Cowboys (7-3).
The New England Patriots (6-4) play at the Minnesota Vikings (8-2).
3 NFL games for which I give thanks.

The New England Patriots (6-4) play at the Minnesota Vikings (8-2). 3 NFL games for which I give thanks. Bills and the Over. Cowboys and the under. (Unfortunately). Patriots and the under. Now if you know anything about me, run out and bet the opposite. I was actually more excited for some of the college games this weekend. South Carolina knocking off Tennessee last weekend may have ruined what I had hoped would be a big upset in the South Carolina-Clemson game. |

In our family, if we wanted to have Thanksgiving with our grandparents, we joined them at the Cowboys game at Texas Stadium.  |

Brine worked well. Gravy a bit salty but I dont salt my food. Turkey was juicy but not salty. I'd definitely go with 48 hours before if you can--in this case it was more like 36 hours, I also put it in the oven upside down for the first 1/2 hour, then right side up. Gave it a good all around cooking, no underdone spots.
Now to make soup!

The South Carolina upset pick worked very very well. Thanksgiving Day went as expected- I was mostly wrong about everything.
