The first interviews took place today. I wonder how many were held. If the interviews are going to take place over the next nine days and 300-400 people will be interviewed, they would need to process about 40 a day... With eight hours in a day, that's five teams of interviewers per hour in five rooms somewhere in the Sky family of buildings.... Nothing else to do at this point but idly speculate on things that don't really mean that much at this late date, but it would be interesting to see the mechanics of this play out.

Only interview I've ever been to where you could stop and pick up a few bargains on your way from the waiting area to the interview room (you'll see - made us all laugh). The ODAR interviewers were exceptionally nice and (as has been said) this had a very different feel from the OPM interview. Hang in there and good luck to all.

I know what you mean. Hey, at least it's not a Walmart. ;D On a more serious note, the interviewers were nice and professional, and the questions were fair. Although the number of questions they got is definitely quite staggering. When I realized the booklet (about the size of a 1040 tax return instruction) they had in hand contains all the interview questions, I was quite impressed by the scope.
Expect the interview to take an hour plus if there is no break in the middle and things go relatively fast. I can actually see it going close to two hours if there is a break and people talk slow. There are a lot of materials to cover. Good luck to all!

Today, there were 10 interviews running concurrently. With 4 sets a day, if they continue at that pace, that's 360 interviews. It did take about 1 1/2 hours. If you drive, park at Target and walk up the stairs next to McDonald's.

Is there no parking at the actual location?

No. Well, yes, there is a parking lot but you have to be an employee to use it. It sounds worse than it is. Target is right next to (and above) the SSA building, with the McDonald's at the end of the Target building. You can see the tall glass building that is SSA, but there is a brick wall between it and Target. You walk up the flight of stairs and find yourself in an outdoors SSA parking lot. Walk across to the glass entry doors and tell the guards at the desk why you are there. The parking is free if you are there less than 2 hours; $2 for 2- 3 hours. Get there early - 1/2 hour or so, anyway, to complete the paperwork. And if your panel is ready for you, they may start your interview early.

Purelife, thanks for the info. By the way, do we need to bring anything to the interview (e.g. invitation to interview notification, updated resumes, business cards, etc...)?

Purelife, thanks for the info. By the way, do we need to bring anything to the interview (e.g. invitation to interview notification, updated resumes, business cards, etc...)? Nothing is needed. They have a file on you and your name should be on the candidate list with the security down at the lobby. So all you have to do is bring yourself and your sharp interview skills.

Orly, thanks for the heads-up. Patriotsfan, being that I can only fulfill one of the two requirements mentioned by orly, I may take your advice.
