If it is not readily apparent from the content on this board, OCALJ employees have been working their collective butts off to get the next class of ALJs. Weekends and late nights are the norm (sure they get paid overtime, but they have to be away from their families).
They deserve our thanks.
Even to have the chance at interviewing to be an ALJ is an honor (just ask the folks you know who scored too low on the register, or those who did not even have the chance to take the WD or SI). And the OCALJ employees made it happen.

Ditto. The entire staff has been very helpful and pleasant. After my interview, I told them so and thanked them, and they were quite surprised to hear it. So, if you agree, let them know when you are in Falls Church!

They were lovely to deal with last year as well. One particularly nice lady had to let me into the locked restroom 2x. You know who you are and you were a doll when I was a stressed female having been worn out on the plane ride, tossed about in a cab and blown to bits by the most bitter wind this side of N. Dakota. Thanks is a word that every ALJ needs to have right on the tip of their tongue from the first interview scheduler right into our daily interactions with the staff in our hearing office, to the claimant's and attorneys/reps. When someone is "just doing their job" it does not preclude some sincere thanks being tossed their way or even the occasional specialty coffee/cookie/flower/card.

Glad, but amused, to hear I am not the only one who had to use the locked ladies room twice! They really were very nice, and I have to say I have had a similar experience in my hearing office.
