Well folks, Looks like offers are not coming out for a few more weeks, but it's not too early to work out the logistics of how to handle it, since it's probably going to be the burning question of the moment. Last year members who were willing to share pm'ed me as to which cities they accepted and I complied the info and posted the cities (without their forum names unless they want to, of course), just so others know which locations have been accepted (see old thread). This year I'm willing to compile another list so people don't have to be in the dark. So when the offers start, and you would like to share the info with your fellow travelers, just send me a pm if you don't want to post it in the open forum yourself. Thx!

I was thinking about this last night (instead of sleeping). Last year, there was a question about whether third party appointments should be disclosed. In other words, if I know of someone in my office who was selected to a postiion, would I tell you? Assume I don't think the person is on this board (but can't obviously, know for certain). If the person is on the board, obviously they themselves tell.

Last year members who were willing to share pm'ed me as to which cities they accepted and I complied the info and posted the cities (without their forum names unless they want to, of course), just so others know which locations are off the table (see old thread). Unless we know how many openings are in a given location, the posting of an offer will not necessarily indicate that the location is "off the table."

Unless we know how many openings are in a given location, the posting of an offer will not necessarily indicate that the location is "off the table." Very good point. There will be multiple openings at the certain locations, if history is any indication. I'll revise the original post accordingly. Assume I don't think the person is on this board (but can't obviously, know for certain). If the person is on the board, obviously they themselves tell. As for the question about friends who might not be on the board, ask if they are members just to make sure. If they are, leave it up to them, if they are not, ask if it's OK to pass on the info without their names attached to it. I just don't want to get into a situation where we accidentally double counts. Thanks.

It would be useful to also know if an offer is made and declined. Although I suspect there will be few, we might be able to tell if ODAR "reoffers" the location or leaves the location empty for a future fill. For those of us who are geographicaally challenged, such info may provide a bit of hope.

There may well be declinations this time. I have heard that there were no shows at the SSA interviews for folks with "other" cities on their list who felt they couldn't move.

I know of a few no shows myself and one who did show and essentially took herself out of the running during the interview.
As some have already said, there is no indication that declinations will result in reoffers. ODAR is likely going to roll those positions over to the next cert.

For what it's worth, someone in the know told me that Raleigh, NC has two ALJ openings. I don't know if either of them was filled by the recent transfers.

For what it's worth, someone in the know told me that Raleigh, NC has two ALJ openings. I don't know if either of them was filled by the recent transfers. It turns out that one of the positions was filled with a hardship tranfer. Now there's one empty ALJ slot in Raleigh.

Alright folks, Looks like the show has finally hit the road. Good luck to everyone. As far as polls go, these two polls are somewhat useful in the polling section, please participate if you wish (you'll need to login): Offer Acceptance/DeclineOffer received yet?As for more detailed information, here's the official report thread. If you don't want to be public, just pm me or Pix the info and we'll post it in the thread for you. Please include city and class if possible. Also, if anyone declined, please let us know as well. Thanks!
