I was looking back through my giant "ALJ APPLICATION FILE" and found some information about Region VI openings that I received from a Region VI ALJ. 10 offices with vacancies for a total of 19 openings in Region VI. Does anyone have any information on the number of openings in each specific region? I was noticing on the Geographical Availability List that we all received that Region IV has the largest number of offices with openings (22) but I don't know how many positions are open in Region IV.

Good luck everyone. If you do get a call, are you posting in the Poll or sending a PM to ALJDiscussion or Pixie? Thanks!

OK, we need a poll or something--some place to do the accounting. Also, do you notice all of a sudden everything just stopped. Is it because it is lunch time? No calls for me yet--Good luck, We are brothers and sisters in misery until this is over....

There is a poll in the Polling Place, but I think you need to be a member to post? I don't know that anyone has posted there yet.

There have to be more offers out there.

I agree that there should be more offers out there.
But that is not necessarilly so.
If they are doing this on an offer by offer basis and do not want to make a subsequent offer until one has been accepted, we could be at a stopping point.
They might do this so that they can make another offer to the same office without violating veteran's preference.
I doubt that is the case, as two or three non-acceptance (whether it be "I have to think about it" or "no") could slow this down significantly.

"There have to be more offers out there."
Why am I picturing an operation limited to a single nasally voiced librarian look-alike with a rotary phone... dialing each number... very slowly... ever so slowly... 5....................................................................................................................5....................................................................5..........................................................1............................................................2..................................................................3.................................................................4...

I spoke with the SSA Personnel Office. Calls have begun today and will continue next week (no word on calls over the weekend). Only a few selections have been received. Most personnel actions (appointments) will come next week. Roggenbier, may I ask who did you speak to there in HR and where did you get the number?

I won't, Ed, they are really on a roll (3 calls in four hours!)--I wouldn't do anything to break that momentum!

Folks, Offers going out for Region 1 is real. I got a pm about whether this is for real, so I did some additional research. CCJ is very credible based on information I have (even though she only has 1 post). So this is happening. However, I have not received any pms reporting any additional offer, and there are only two or three report so far. So the only conclusion I can draw is what was reported by roggenbier, that the offer process is likely to be stretched out into next week. So yes, offers have started, but it looks like only a few Region 1 (New England) offers have been reported, and most likely this will go into next week.
