Gee, ALJD, this makes me ponder the situation: I will have to bring my special rabbit running shoes as I suspect a chase will occur in the glass tower when we cross paths! Congrats again and also to everyone else who made it this time. Emphasis on this time. For those who didn't there is an abundance of additional opportunity like never before next time (on the 2nd cert and in 2010). So, whatever you do, don't give up the ship! ALJ is right; he has given me aid and comfort via PM's every step of the way, as have some other stalwart souls! Oh Flannery, and I thought you had ears only for me.

Congrats to all! I am looking forward to meeting my August classmates and my new colleagues in Sacramento. Thank you all for the wealth of information, support and humor that sustained me through the long marathon of a process.

Congrats, Kitkat, it would appear that you may be one of the six that Mr. Foster alluded to in his summary earlier today of alj hiring (151 with six more to go on this round). So it looks as if there are still five more to go between now and... Monday-Tues of next week? And 25-50 in the fall with 208 in '10. That is a whole lot of add'l opportunities and chances, not to mention five more this time before it's said and done.

Thanks, flannery. I wondered about that. You may not have seen it, but I amended my post announcing my offer to indicate that my co-worker also received an offer today for R4. We were both floored as we thought the process was over for now. Bob G. informed my co-worker that more offers may be made over the weekend -- so those offers may the ones needed to reach the mythical 157.

Kitkat, this is useful info. So two down that we know of and somewhere between one and four more to go on this round.

Congratulations to all, those who were offered a position and those who made the journey but did not make it in this time around.
I wish you all the best.
Sincerely, Mike G.

Yes, congratulations to all. In honor of every member of this board, from whom I have learned so much and gleaned so much support as I sit out here silently in the lurker's weeds, I offer this haiku:
Almost a year gone. Wish we could go as a group, Invisible friends.

I know some folks are reluctant to post where they are going, but I have been contacted by two folks from my new duty station and the town, with valuable info and good wishes because I listed where I was going. If you don't post where, then you are missing out on very valuable benefit and asset that being on this board can provide! Just my two paws worth. Reposted LB's message from the reporting thread. Good point. Alternatively/additionally, call your HOCALJ if you haven't already. They are interested to know who's coming in two weeks. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

8-)Congrats to jerseymom. See you are going to Mississippi. Which part? I'm a native of the Misssippi Delta which is located in the NW part if the state. They have three offices there, Tupelo in the NE part of the state, Jackson which is the state capitol and in the mid-central part of the state. Hope you got Hattiesburg, which is a jewel. It is surely in South Mississippi and very close to the gulf coast, and the casinos. In fact it is close to everything. New Orleans, Moblie, and all the beaches on the redneck riveiria.

8-)Jerseymom, maybe a little culture shock since your are from Jersey, but south Mississippi is somewhat sophisticated and laid back because of its location. Plus it has a university there, Southern Mississippi, a division one school. First class medical facilities, and just a lovely city. Enjoy.

Jerseymom, it may be culture shock, but my guess is that you will need to become bilingual. I know a great attorney in that office. She can also put 3 syllables in the word "Hi".
